I was one of the lucky few who were able to see the first show of the
new tour. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring a pen and paper to the show
to write down the setlist, but here's what I remember hearing, in absolutely
no particular order:

Fingertips -- in their entirety...very cool!...especially liked the rocking
version of "I walk along darkened corridors"
Mink Car
Twistin'
Birdhouse in Your Soul
Istanbul (Not Constantinopole) -- I wish they would stop playing this in
concert. The only good thing about this song is Dan's awesome guitar intro.
The Guitar -- Awesome!
She's Actual Size
Spy -- Why do they do this song?!?!?!?
New York City
James K. Polk -- Linnell screwed up the lyrics towards the end:-)
Mr. Tambourine Man
Subliminal
Ana Ng
Lie Still, Little Bottle
Older
Cyclops Rock
Man, It's So Loud in Here
Another First Kiss
I've Got a Fang
Yeh Yeh -- Going to be used in a Chrysler commercial.
Drink!
Bangs
The Famous Polka (instrumental version)
Doctor Worm
Why Does the Sun Shine
She's an Angel -- Always, always an amazing song to hear live
Robot Parade

Notes:
Two encores, three songs each (I think).

There were a couple of times when one of the Johns couldn't remember how a
song started.

Ran into a Dan after the show and asked if they'd be playing "Hopeless Bleak
Despair". He said "Yes, definitely." I asked if they'd play it tomorrow in
SF and he responded in the affirmative. Sweeeeeet.

Bring sunglasses to the show. For some inexplicable reason, they kept
turning the lights towards the crowd.

Overall, a great show! I'm thinking of heading up to the San Francisco
show tomorrow.

Were any of these the album version? Was So Loud just John & John on stage?

Miller on keyboard, Linnell on sax?

It's not on your list though, did they play it?

Yes and it was just John and John for a few songs, but I
don't recall which ones.

They had that arrangement on one song, but I can't remember which one.

Nope. That's why I asked about it.

I'm not sure what the old way was, but the version they played
sounded almost exactly like the version of "Another First Kiss" on Mink Car.

Oh, right. I didn't consider them as separate versions of the same song,
but rather two completely different songs.

Basically because the song only really works live with the
"conducting". Otherwise it just sounds sort of odd although the live
effect is rather cool I feel. If anything while it's not my favorite
song on JH, it is a pretty good one.

Sorry to hear They aren't doing "Noone Knows My Plan" with the conga
intro, although bringing back "The Famous Polka" will be very fun.
