even before the days of Napster, this particular song was mistaken for TMBG,
something to do with it sounding a bit like Istanbul.

I've also seen "the beer song", which i think is from South Park (cannot
confirm, as I don't watch the show).

If you do a search for John Linnell, you'll get a bunch of other songs that
aren't by either of them too.

someone needs to make a list of all the fake tmbg songs on napster. i
imagine this has been done before... but i just had to bring it up again

no, you're not an idiot. puttin' on the ritz (which is a cover of a cole porter


song, i believe), was done by taco in the early 80s.
