I didn't listen on Sunday, but they were on XRT on Thursday
morning. It was advertised as being from 6-10 but They actually
got there around 8 and played some songs and stuff. No call-in,
but there was a live audience and they gave away a couple
Gigantic DVDs. I taped it off the radio and it doesn't sound that great
(for some reason my stereo had kinda shitty reception that morning), but
if people are interested I can mp3 the relevant parts.

Hey there, this is my first time posting here. This WXRT broadcast
with TMBG actually took place Thursday morning, December 4. And I got
to be there for it!

The 4+ hours of broadcast, which began at 6, still had regular radio
play: traffic/weather reports, music, etc. The Johns showed up around
8 am. They played a half dozen songs during that time. There were no
call-ins, just the songs and some banter. The broadcast itself was
maybe four hours. I hung around afterwards to have stuff signed, so
all in all, I was there four and half.

Nice event, catered breakfast and everything. They were on an early
morning WXRT show with Lin Brehmer last year too. It's a totally
different experience seeing TMBG at that time of day. Fantastic casual
performance. Things like this are spoiling me for regular concerts. :)

I'd love to get a copy of the broadcast but I don't know anyone who
taped it.

Did you catch TMBG on last year's early morning XRT broadcast? It was
around this same time last December. If not, would you be willing to
trade this year's breakfast show for that one?

I'd love a copy from this recent one; I got to do an on-air sponsor
acknowledgement for Epson during a traffic report. Plus sentimental
value, etc.

Thanks,
Ana

I taped the whole show from TMBG on. The reception was pretty good, but to
fit it all on one MiniDisc I had to record it in mono. Over the weekend,
I'll try to get this and the Vic show onto CDs.

If you want to record a very long audio program in stereo, you might
want to try VHS. Simply hook your radio's line out to the audio input on
your VCR and start recording. You can get 6 hours on a standard VHS tape
this way. Yeah, it's not digital, but it *is* stereo.

audio quality on VHS is rather poor though, at least in my experience.

I understand. It comes down to a preference of high-quality mono or
lower-quality stereo.

If anyone has it and also wants last year's broadcast, I'm in the
seasonal sharing spirit. Or if anyone puts it up on a site, I thank
you in advance. :)

Just curious, did the audience sound excited? I'm not sure if a lot of
people there liked TMBG or they just happened to win passes.
