Hi there...
does anyone know what is the name of the band Porl Thompson played
when he
left Cure... I remember something like Thorn, but coouldn't decide if
I'm
only linking it with Phil Thornalley... has anyone listened to it, any
descriptions...
My second line goes for the Kissing tour. I really can't decide either
if it
was my make-believe or there was a video issued?
Also a list of movies that Cure did the musical score for, apart from
Carnage visors, Judge dredd, X, Crow that are "officially" listed....
thank you all
and greetings to who-m-ever was on Pepsi Sziget enjoying that Rained
prayers....

In terms of the band that Porl Thompson recorded with, I think you
might be thinking of Shelleyan Orphan. Both Porl Thompson and Boris
Williams, who was also in The Cure, appeared on their 1992 album
"Humroot". If I recall correctly, Boris Williams is married (or was
back then, I'm not sure if he is any longer???) to Caroline Crawley
who sings for this band. Porl is married to Robert Smith's sister.

Porl Thompson had the band "QuietlyTorn" (that may be the "Thorn" thing you're
thinking of) and Boris Williams and Caroline from Shelleyan Orphan had the band
"Babacar".

And why in the hell did you have to make a new Subject/whatever for the
answer...

Read my post above for info on Porl, and no, it was Boris who played drums
on a Shelleyan Orphan album not Porl.
Boris and Porl have never played together on a Shelleyan Orphan album, that
was Babacar and Boris has never been married.

+ + + the bass player in Quietly Torn (Roberto Soave) was also the bass
player for Shelleyan Orphan.

He also played bass for The Cure replacing Simon Gallup
for about 8 shows towards the end of the Wish Tour 92.

the concept of threads really is lost on these fucktards. between
spangletwat starting a new subject everytime she has anything to say and
brent replying to his own posts about forty times in a row (because no one
else will, i presume) this newsgroup must read like a 'classic cliffhanger'
on google or similar.
