I tried to bid on a sealed copy on eBay and the bidding went up to around $130.
That was a little ridiculous. The other one that I saw was opened and went
for around $85.

I really like Ric but I have to draw the line somewhere.

So what are the chances of getting it in a real store?

Anyone know its catalog number?

This was an import only version of Quick Change World. The story has been
that the label did not think QCW was exceptionally marketable, so they had
Ric work with a different producer and change about half the tracks. I was
able to round up an original sealed copy in a trade with a Cars fan in
Europe. Typically this is relatively difficult to come by and I have never
seen or heard of a copy appearing in a US store. As noted by others, this
CD tends to go for quite a price tag on eBay nowdays, but you may be able to
find a fan willing to trade you for a copy.

If memory serves the unique tracks on this release are:
Ride With Duce
Shake A Little Nervous
Take Me Silver
Telephone Again
Race To Nowhere
Who Do I Pay
Wait For Fate
What Is Time
Fade Away

It is a pretty solid release and several of the tracks are excellent
examples of Ric's work.

Negative Theatre was also the name of a Ric Ocasek collection of poetry with
some very interesting pictures (very Warholesque for the most part). A
member of the Frozen Fire Cars e-mail list was able to locate copies for
sale through Ric's legal representatives a couple years ago. Those of us
who were fortunate enough to get a hold of these got the pleasant surprise
of receiving a Ric Ocasek signed copy of a fairly rare book. Prior to this
I tried to round up copies through numerous book search companies and they
were not able to dig anything up.

Hope this helps out,
