I've just seen the movie "Trainspotting" last night and I thoroughly
enjoyed the music they used in the film. Does anyone know the artist
and title of the track which accompanied the character Renton's "cold
turkey" scene when his parents locked him in his bedroom. The scene
also includes a baby crawling on the ceiling and his room elongating.
I don't really want to pay Ł13 for the soundtrack CD if it isn't on!

Thanks

Steve

I'm not 100% sure, but I think its by Leftfield or Underworld, with
the former more likely as I think they also supplied music for

I believe it's "Dark Train" by Underworld, IIRC. It's on one of the
singles for "Dark And Long", it's one of those songs Underworld develops
from one of their others. Suddenly I'm not sure how to spell their. Anyway.

The Underworld track on the soundtrack album is "Born Slippy". Not sure
if it's NUXX or not.

Also, I saw _Trainspotting_ described as a "dark comedy" in a local
(Texas) newspaper. Yeah. Well, it's due out in America in June, and I aim
to be the first to see it.

It would have not been the Underworld song...Born Slippy was used in the
final scene when Renton was running from the hotel. I gather it was The
Leftfield song 'A Final Hit'.

hello there
the song was actually a mix of dark and long by underworld - i think
it's the dark train mix, and it's definitely on the dark and long cd
single.

Well played fellow leeds person.

It is indeed dark and long the dark train mix. It's on last years tribal
gathering album and also the single. IT IS NOT on the soundtrack. Final Hit
by leftfield is when rents is taking his final hit on the coach to london.
(So sort your web page out jeff! There's more than one underworld tune in
the film. WOULD YOU CREDIT IT!! Canny scots will be beating us at footy
next.)

I also reckon that scene is possibly the best music/cinema moment on film
ever.

It is NUXX. Also, "Born Slippy" is very possibly going to be released as a
single in the UK. They were not going to at first, but public pressure (it
is an amazing song!!!) must have made them change their minds.

Um, I thought it was released before the album. I have a copy, and I just
figured since it came out in the US that it came out in the UK as well.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if the soundtrack to Shallow Grave has
been released? I really liked the opening song (by Leftfield), but I can't
find the soundtrack album (well, in Australia anyway). And what was the
the name Leftfield song anyway?

Hmm, just as Heaven 17's Temptation is in the movie, but not on the
soundtrack either (it was the music playing during the first big club
scene).

you bet, i will for sure credit it, as well as Heaven 17. Did anyone else
notice any music in the movie that has not been released on the
soundtrack?

I agree. I like the way that they played each song almost in it's entirty,
unlike most films, who just play snipits of songs here and there, which
you can hardly hear. I also loved the way in which Diane sang part of New
Order's "Temptation" during Rentons Cold Turkey scene. Very cool

has been in the us. the names of the leftfield songs on that soundtrack are "shallow
grave" and "release the dubs".

It's 'Dark Train' by Underworld - available only on the 'Dark and Long'
single from '94. And it's not on the Soundtrack LP, so save yer cash!
The single was released on Junior Boys Own. Mail me for more details.

UnderWorld('Born Slippy'). Does anyone know if 'Born Slippy' is

Nope. For the cold turkey scene, it's Underworld - Dark And Long, Dark Train Mix.

it is going to be realeased as the 2nd or 3rd single off the album I believe
(or at least on the B-side of one of them) so it should be available
freely on vinyl in a couple months hopefully.

ok, I've got the trainspotting soundtrack (though haven't been able to
listen to it yet - still at work).

what i'd like to know is if the shallow grave soundtrack is available
anywhere. it's not available locally in australia and the record shop i
went to didn't have it in their import guide, so if it is available, what
label is it on (and what tracks are on it).

cheers
