Well Chill Out is indeed a classic but may I recomend you trying some
Pete Namlook stuff (Rising High Records / FAX). Namlook's Air / Air 2 /
Definative Ambient Collections 1 & 2 are IMO very good. While not
really that much like Chill Out , they are moderatly to very ambient
with not too many beats ;-)

Im probably wasting my time syggesting Future Sound of London as you
have probably heard of them or maybee even have a copy or two. But if
not then Lifeorms and the FSOL AKA : Amorphous Androgenous LPs are well
worth a look also the excelent value for money , Cascade CD by them.

I must admit to being , in the past , a big fan of Warps A.I. series of
compilations & albums but find myself move more towards the ambient
side of things these days!

Best Regards,

Nick Woodfine.

the latest ambient CD i bought was em:t0094, on Instinct US. i found it at
Tower. It is the ambient stuff released in the t:me record label, which
puts out a lot of good progressive house and trance. Another good
compilation is Feed Your Head on Planet Dog -- it is very otherworldly
oriented, tribal and futuristic. Some oldies I still find myself reaching
for include Irresistible Force's Flying High, Art of Noise's ambient
effort, Mixmaster Morris' remix of Autumn Leaves by Coldcut, and --
despite all the trashing of Aphex Twin currently seen in these parts --
Selected Ambient Works 85-92 will be a favorite until the day I die.
Much peace. 19
