I don't know exactly, but I remember having heard a song which was based
on that tune on a sampler full of technoish soundtrack cover tunes. It
was on a french label, I think. But then again, I bet, there's more than
one song using this sample out.

Yep. It's the woodtick mix. Plus a couple of others which hadthe same
sample.
Also there was a track on Stealth records called twin Freaks which was a
pretty good track.
