Did Top Gear use Marc Bolan song for promo?

I came across an MP3 called "Top Gear Jingle"
it is a fragment of a Tyrannosaurus Rex song where Marc
just sings "Top Gear"
So I am curious did Top Gear use this piece of music?

This particular "Top Gear" actually refers to the 1960s radio show
that John Peel, among others, used to present. T-Rex did a session for
the show and Marc Bolan wrote this piece especially for it. I've just
read a book all about the history of the Peel Sessions and this story
was mentioned in it.
