Has anyone seen this show? Is this the synthpop show that was rumored to
be coming to MTV a while back? I have yet to see this program. Is it
any good?

It's more ambient and techno. I have yet to see any synthpop bands.
What a surprise. It took MTV this long to play techno stuff. Amp shows
stuff from Orbital, Autechre, Underworld, etc.

Absolutely this is long overdue from MTV. What a relief! It may not be
the Pet Shop Boys or New Order, but it's electronic, and it's pretty darn
cool! If it helps, it's on at 1:00 a.m. on Saturdays if you're in the
Eastern Time Zone. I've seen it other times, but this is the one I
remember.

it isn't much, but they did play gary numan: "cars", one song by
art of noise, and one by kraftwerk. i have a listing for all the episodes
i've seen and i can post it if people are interested.

Sounds better than grunge and rap. At least the techno & ambient artists
use synths in an appealing manner.

Is it still airing or did it go off the air already? If it is still
plaing, what are the times?

in parentheses by the number is the "interstitial music" artist - the music
played before and after commercial breaks and at the end of the show unless
they just continue the music from the previous video or start the music from
the upcoming video. i don't know the interstitial music for all of them (if
someone can help me out, i'd appreciate it) because i missed the credits for
AMP1 and i didn't save the credits (for some reason) for the first couple
episodes. towards the end, i put in spaces where the commercial breaks were.
if anyone knows and cares, let me know where the commercial breaks were for
the ones i missed. AMP1 had a different format that i think was pretty cool,
though i do like the format they settled on.

i saw amp last night 1/25... and it was great, especially if you like
techno and ambient... they played (among others) howie b., banco de gaia,
orbital, alex reece, future sound of london... very trippy, very cool.

It IS COOL!
They actually go to the trouble to audio mix the videos! - like its a club
mix/feel---the images blur together incoherrently, but the audio track to
it is seamless-very creative & imaginative for Fu@$#%in' MTV! The track
selections are GOOD- new singles by
trancetribalambientneohousejungleelectroravetechno acts are featured, they
are trying to be different-they've even changed the FONT they use to chyro
the bands, they center it (not the usual left corner thing)
watch it once-decide for yourself!
