In honor of Syd Barrett, co-founder of Pink Floyd, who passed away a
year ago, I present:

Seven Syncs of Syd Barrett on 07.07.07

1. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967) with The War of the Worlds
(1952)

- sync grade = B
- discovered by Andrew Wendland in July 2003
- sync length = movie length (approx. 1 hour 25 minutes)
- start the CD at the beginning of the movie when "A Paramount
Picture" appears
- repeat the CD until the end of the movie

2. Relics (1971) with The Beatles' Yellow Submarine (1968)

- sync grade = B-
- discovered by Andrew Wendland in Feb. 2002
- sync length = movie length (approx. 1 hour 30 minutes)
- start the CD at the beginning of the movie, just as "Once upon a
time...." appears
- repeat the CD until the end of the movie
- examine the Remastered CD booklet to see hints that point to this
movie
- the one song found on this album only, "Biding My Time," sounds a
lot like The Beatles

3. Syd Barrett - The Madcap Laughs (1970) with The Graduate (1967)

- sync grade = B
- discovered by Todd Ellis and Andrew Wendland in Nov. 2004
- revealed on 21.12.04
- sync length = movie length (approx. 1 hour 46 minutes)
- start the CD at the beginning of the movie when An Embassy Pictures
Release appears
- repeat the CD until the end of the movie
- make sure to use only the original 13 tracks and to skip any bonus
tracks

4. Syd Barrett - Barrett (1970) with The Fly (1958)

- sync grade = B-
- discovered by Andrew Wendland in Nov. 2004
- revealed on 07.11.04
- sync length = movie length (approx. 1 hour 34 minutes)
- start the CD at the beginning of the movie when the percussion in
the movie starts, just before the 20th Century Fox appears
- repeat the CD until the end of the movie
- make sure to use only the original 12 tracks and to skip any bonus
tracks

5. Syd Barrett - Opel (1988) with The Shining (1980)

- sync grade = B-
- discovered by Andrew Wendland in Nov. 2004
- revealed on 21.12.04
- sync length = movie length (approx. 2 hours 24 minutes)
- start the CD at the beginning of the movie after A Warner
Communications Company fades out and the actual scene begins
- repeat the CD until the end of the movie
- make sure to use only the original 14 tracks and to skip any bonus
tracks

6. Syd Barrett - The Best Of - Octopus (1992) with The Rocky Horror
Picture Show (1975)

- sync grade = B
- discovered by Andrew Wendland in April 2003
- sync length = movie length (approx. 1 hour 40 minutes)
- start the CD at the beginning of the movie when the music in the
movie starts, just before the 20th Century Fox appears
- repeat the CD until the end of the movie
- notice that the letters in OCTOPUS are contained in "The rOCky
hOrror PictUre Show"
- the sync will work with either the UK version or the US version of
the film
- the UK version has one additional scene called "Superheroes" toward
the very end of the film, so the majority of the film is identical
between the two versions
- the preferred version for this sync is the UK version

7. Syd Barrett - The Best Of - Wouldn't You Miss Me? (2001) with
Edward Scissorhands (1990)

- sync grade = B
- discovered by Todd Ellis and Andrew Wendland in April 2003
- sync length = movie length (approx. 1 hour 45 minutes)
- start the CD at the beginning of the movie when 20th Century Fox
appears with snow falling
- repeat the CD until the end of the movie

I know, Tim. It's keeping him off the streets though, so it's doing
the general public a favour if nothing else....

I can think of only one sentence that applies to Cumface, Bleech, and
Mrs.B at once:

"One of these is not like the others."

___
-S
"As human beings, we understand the world through simile, analogy,
metaphor, narrative and, sometimes, claymation." - B. Mason
