Even though I Know this is the Suede Usenet group, I wanted everyone's
thoughts for
Jeff Buckley, Sony artist and NY area singer/songwriter who is presumed
drowned in
Mississippi this weekend. He is/was a fabulous singer, a one of a kind voice,
and a wonderful human being, and wherever he is, I hope he is at peace.

Thanks for your time....

Adam (in a VERY sober mood)

I very much agree with you Adam. The world has lost a talented artist
and a wonderful person.

Anyone that is unaware of Jeff's music should check out his one and only
album "Grace". The emotion and spirit this man weaved into his music was
undeniable.

These are sad days indeed.

Coincidence or not, a "fantasy band" thread was just started on a Suede
list I'm on, someone had mentioned Jeff Buckley/Brett Anderson for
vocals.

Just to tie Suede into this thread

terrible news for me too, he is, indeed, one of the finest vocals of
today... and he has class.. you can actually drowned (!!) in his
singing. I hope he can rest in peace and he has become a legend too -
like his father.

ps. this is not exactly un-suede related, I once read a jeff buckley
interview, seemed like he's an admirer of brett, he said something like:
"I am not the kind of rock star that drives people crazy, when Brett
Anderson goes on stage, everyone goes WOW!" (not in exact wording)...
well..

Maybe he faked his death.

They positively identified his body Thursday. :-(

Jeff will live on with his brilliant and evocative music.
Hopefully when people will listen to his music now, they will
listen for the right reasons and appreciate a gifted and
wonderful artist and not some guy who drowned in the
Mississippi and it made the papers. AS much as I want
people to appreciate Jeff's talent, I don't feel we should
idolize him merely because he joined the Rock Club
in the sky....

My sentiments, and mine alone.....
