. . .he pop's in here every few months to start a brawl by spewing out some
whacked-out prophesy. . .and then he suddenly vanishes when he's been proven
wrong. Then he will reappear in a few months in hopes of everyone here
being unsuspecting newbies. This isn't the most Burny-friendly place .
.judging by what I've experienced anyway. . .many feel that he tarnishes
that name of the Roses. . .and I can't entirely disagree with the majority
here. Anyone remember New Years?

I don't even know what the fuck it's all about, much ado about fuck all I
suspect, the guy wrote a story (which I've never read) about the Roses which
some people didn't like, is that it?

I've read One LoveStory, (took me bloody ages). The main point in it is
that Burnweed AKA Lee D'Onofrio claims that the Roses are all
prophets/angels who have been put on earth to prepare the way for the coming
of the Messiah (himself, Burnweed). To back this up he quotes loads of
Roses songs and interprets the lyrics to mean certain things which 'support'
his claims. It is actually really interesting in parts but the man is
clearly insane. Despite its wrongness the story does add quite alot to the
mystique of the Roses for some people, especially with its interpretations
of lyrics and religious references in Roses songs. Still bolox though.

Whatever people think of it, it was some of the most
entertaining stuff written about the Stone Roses.
I'd rather read that than the tired music journalist's
offering over the years. At least it was written by someone
who was at least passionate about the music.

Word of warning: it is very long - you'll need days to read it.

Call me paranoid but I'm always suspicious of posts from my deja.com.
After all that fracas over new year this post sounds like one of Burny's
'little helpers'.

I didn't find it interesting, in fact I got bored shitless after reading
about half of it, waste of my bleedin printer ink...the guy was/is clearly a
whole picnic short of a picnic.

He thought that by writing every stone roses /ecstacy fuelled trip episode
down on paper he'd somehow convince us all he was the messiah, Reni was the
'spirit', and Noel Gallagher was a cheeky Goblin toying with his mind.

And we weren't supposed to laugh??

For someone who found it boring, it sounds like you stuck
with it more than I ever did. IMHO, there's interesting
bits and tedious bits but it was still evidently a gripping
yarn even for you. The bonus for people who haven't read
it is that the early bits are probably better than the last
few bits.

Obviously, you're right.

when someone makes a concise version with all the funny bits (ie nutter
comments) in one part and relevant but prolly way too far out song
interpretations in another part, i will skim through it but until then burny
to me will remain the crackpot with the huge posts of which you read maybe
the first paragraph then just rip the piss and dont tell me i havent given
him enough chance to explain his argument. martial law in 2000, lens flare
(mystical circles) and the roses reforming for glastonbury 2000 can not be
proven even if you write a million volumes about them

Have to say I agree that it is interesting. The stories about when the guy
is listening to the Roses on E in his house-the way he talks about the music
and stuff is pretty class.

I liked the passage where he's supposed to be in Silvertones' office and
he's wearing a blue jacket and apparently Ian Brown is supposed to have said
"Beware the angel in Blue!" rather ominously to the A & R guy beforehand.
That cracked me up. I mean, people don't actually speak to each other like
that - "beware the cat in spiderman pyjamas, lest yee will hath a pox spread
