I first heard the Super Furries on an unmarked tape my mate gave me.
I used to sing along to the Welsh stuff using English words, quite the
thing, until the same mate informed me of my mistake.
Never have I looked so stupid.
I'd buy the album though. (Just dont sing along!)

Mike.

Syllables.
How often have I seen letters on here with,"What does Brown sing after
the >>>> bit?" and about forty different versions of reply.
You can imagine how many combinations you can make from Welsh,
eventually some of them make sense. Sort of.

Mike.

Hopefully it's better than that "experimental/production crap"
on their last CD. For awhile there...I thought the SFA were
trying to be the next "Can"....

Hmmm I like Guerrilla - the sounds on it are great - particularly
wherever I lay my phone thats my home. Can are pretty cool too :)

But in answer to your question - its not really similar at all, quite
lo-fi and acoustic...

I didn't really like the Guerrilla stuff either but I love Radiator, that is
a class album

Yeh radiator is fantastic... I liked Guerrilla too-

Even if you don't, in their defence, at least they are always prepared
to try different things. I mean, although there is a sort of
Super-furries theme throughout their albums, I'd defy anyone to say that
any of their albums sound the same as each other - rather than sticking
to the same old formula...

Well I didn't buy it only heard my mates so I haven't really given it a real
chance but I have seen them live a couple of times and they were great. Your
right they are never afraid to try anything but I can't see myself liking an
album in welsh too much. Though I hear they're already working on there next
one so it shouldn't be too long before a real album

Real album? I guess you haven't heard anything by them in welsh before.
Its not as bad as you think. The strength of this album is in the songs
themselves and Gryff's sweet singing voice. I'll stop talking about the
furries now, cause there is a newsgroup for them which I participate in,
so its not really appropriate here. In response to your other point, yes
a new album is somewhere about. They have actually recorded it -
apparently they lost the tapes for a while! I would imagine they won't
release it till the autumn at least though, to let Mwng sell a wee bit.

The new one is quite good, but they didn't spend any money on it, hence the
feeling among many that it isn't a proper album. It's not a patch on
Radiator, but it's still good if you're in the right mood.

When I said real album it was because I thought it wasn't much more than
demos and recorded very quickly not putting down stuff in welsh.

I got to say Welsh is quite a nice sounding language to listen to. Its a
good album, though its one of those where you have to go to your mate "oooh
track 3 is good" because I can't get my head around the welsh. If the album
was sung in German of something it wouldn't sound half as good to my ear.

I just think I'd struggle to enjoy anything in a language I can't
understand, maybe that's a bit shallow but I can't see it. I used to hate
SFA but recently I've started to warm to them, they have some nice songs, I
really liked "Do Or Die"

If you like Hip-Hop type shit, go for MC Solar, although my french is
shit to bad, his voice is outstanding and makes understanding the words
unnecessary-ish.

If you don't like that kind of thing, try doing head-stands while
wearing deely boppers or knocking one off into a fish-tank, just for a
change, like.
