It seems there are at least 2 vesions of aja:
Steve Hoffman's master and Roger Nichols'.

Which is the best?

Well, eh, it seems there is still an endless discussion....on what is
/is not the Hoffman master.

IMO the final word is not yet spoken on this matter..

What I do know and what I can confirm is the fact that I possess 2
copies of Aja: an early silver CD pressing (1984, bought in 1985) and
the Original Master Recording (MFSL Gold Disc).

I always was convinced that the MFSL sounded different than the early
silver one, but does it sounds better then??
Then I read about the Hoffman mastering and it confuses me: up 'til now
I can't pick the best sounding one among these three versions.

Anyhow, Aja is and remains a masterpiece.....

It is exactly because it's such a masterpiece that I got interested in the
different versions.
But as far as I've read, the differences are minimal.
