Looks like WJJZ FM in Philadelphia has resurfaced at 97.5 FM with a much
stronger signal than it's old location at 106.1
Thank God - Philly has a smooth jazz station once again... just in time for
the holidays

I know it's not for purists, but there is a place in this world for it. It's
easy to poke fun at Kenny G... but guys like Marc Antoine, Down to the Bone
& Brooklyn Funk Essentials are damn great artists.
And let's face it... Smooth Jazz is the genre that our own SD helped
pioneer.
When was the last time you heard Don & Walt on one of those traditional
Heroin Jazz stations?

Wednesday morning.
C'mon... you know what I'm talking about!
The free form self indulgent "traditional" jazz.... the artist usually
shoots up just before going on stage? The seemingly endless improvisational
jams?
I can appreciate that stuff as much as the next guy... I'm a bassplayer
myself... but that's never been SD's style. They are much slicker and
polished..."Smooth Jazz"... whether you like that label or not.
baby, you've got to stop being so suspicious of people who post here.
remember the roger sadowsky appearance? are you doubting that the
actual genuine dave moore is posting here and actually heard sd on an
actual jazz station in his neighborhood?
he did.

I don't dislike smooth jazz as much as I dislike the corporate smooth
jazz radio nonsense. It's practically impossible to hear "real" smooth
jazz on smooth jazz stations because they're too busy playing Celine
Dion and Boyz II Men records.
