I always interpreted Razor Boy to be a hep slang term for the scythe
wielding grim reaper. Is there another better interpretation? Anyone?

I answered this thread a little while ago, and I think it's a metaphor for
the "razor" blade that's used to cut cocaine ... Hence the lyrics:

"Will you still have a song to sing
When the Razor Boy comes and takes your fancy things away?"

The key word for me there is "fancy", assuming that this person has the rock
and roll lifestyle right now, but is quickly on the way down.

There are several other references to cocaine in the song, but that's the
strongest one for me.

Yours,
Kathryn Hillman

"you know that the coming is so close at hand, you feel alright"

This is most definitely describing the attitude surrounding a cocaine addict.

'Most Definitely is a bit strong.....there are easily 20 different
alternative meanings one could ascribe to that line...sex being an obvious
choice, but I agree that I always interpreted the name to be synonymous with
the Grim Reaper.
