Peter Solowka (ex-Wedding Present)'s band, Ukrainians, put out an EP
called "Pizni Iz The Smiths," featuring Ukrainian versions of:
Batyar (Bigmouth Strikes Again)
Koroleva Ne Polerma (The Queen Is Dead)
M'yaso - Ubivstvo (Meat Is Murder)
Spivaye Solovey (What Difference Does It Make?)
Wie spät ist jetzt? (How Soon Is Now?)
OK, OK, I admit that I just made it up, and that it literally
translates to "how late is now?", but I still thought it sounded cool.
Besides, I couldn't be bothered to look up some awkward Babelfish
translation.

Here's another portion of words for you.
Drink them in, my friend.
By the way, Mikel's lyrics of his cover of There is a light are... purely
shit. Nothing to do with the original. Nothing of the passion and the
naivety of the original; he just turned it into a plain silly love song.

Okay, Henry. Why not give us some Smiths titles in Chinese?
what's up with the cross-post? i'm a howard stern fan but i doubt his newsgoroup
could care less about the smiths.

This happens every few months or so.
A few morons, (one in particular), thinks that it is funny to crosspost
messages to unrelated groups, ams included.
He & his cohorts no doubt masturbate furiously when they do so, so pleased
with their triumphs are they.
I suppose when you have no life, that sort of thing makes it easier to
bear.
I wouldn't care if the posts were in the slightest bit entertaining,
but...... I fear the posts are the results of chemical / herbal abuse.
I'm sure that *they* find them funny.
They are more to be pitied than berated. Poor, pathetic creatures that they
are.

As to entertainment; flamegroup-cascades are ten times as entertaining
than are your posts in this group. IMO.

Ahh! Another newbie! It's nice that I was able to lure your from the
woodwork.
At least I never crosspost my 'nonsense rubbish', and I always tidy my
posts to reduce bandwidth.
>(Or maybe you don't think it your fault that

It's called 'natural order'. The group has evolved. Now it's beyond the
Smiths, & it's all me, me, me. How appropriate.
It's a compliment to me that you think the group is more about me, than the
Smiths.

As you say 'in your opinion'. As this is the first example we have seen of
your 'opinion', it's not really worth much, is it?
You'll learn. One of these days.

How clever! You've managed to invent yourself yet *another* new name!
I bow to your inventiveness!
Your wife still not 'putting out', eh?
Still, I suppose that it's less messy to post total wank to newsgroups,
than to masturbate constantly.
You are possibly the biggest arsehole I've ever seen on the internet. You
are to be complimented on your achievement, as there is stiff competition.

let me ask a question. if you feel this ng is all about paul why don't you
do something to change it? do you have anything smiths related to post? i've
never seen you respond to a smiths related post.

the cross-posts i've seen here are completely lame. if "in your opinion" you
think they're funny, or even mildly entertaining, you need to get a new
sense of humor.

I regularly make similar points about such posts, but it rarely does any
good.
Truth is, I think that most people *love* my posts, and that is why they
return to the group. Let's face it, there's NO Smiths activity anymore.

true (about no smiths activity), but there are plenty of bands that have
broken up and/or are inactive and their ng's are filled with posts. a group of
people that have a common interest and become friendly can post off topic and
you'd be surprised that on topic talk comes out of it. i think i'm going to
subscribe to a.m.m. and see if anything is going on over there. as far as
loving your posts, well, i will say this; you are at the very least literate
and you have a good sense of humor. i have a tough time conversing with people
that do not have those two qualities.

sad part is they think it's funny stuff.
Well, I have posted a few posts here (all on-topic, as far as I can
remember; the latest re the HSIN-video), but have mostly been lurking,
the last year-and-a-half or so. Though I'm a fan, I don't really have
enough knowledge to contribute in any noteworthy sense (which doesn't
seem to stop others from posting...).
Anyway, I don't really blame Paul for enjoying all the attention he
gets in this group. He's human and he needs to be loved. But he
shouldn't be the first to cry out when someone else starts an
offtopic-thread.

How does one hate a country, or love one? I know people, I know towns, farms,
hills and rivers and rocks, I know how the sun at sunset in autumn falls on the
side of a certain ploughland in the hills; but what is the sense of giving a
boundry to all that, of giving it a name and ceasing to love where the name
ceases to apply? What is love of one's country; is it hate of one's uncountry?
Then it's not a good thing.

It's all been earned.

Not really. I *am* human, but the 'love' of strangers spread around the
globe, 99.9% of which I am never likely to meet, does not give me a warm
feeling inside.
> But he shouldn't be the first to cry out when someone

As you should have clearly been able to see, I *wasn't* the first person to
'cry out'. My post was, in fact, a reply to another post, in which the
question of these pathetically moronic posts was raised.
An 'off-topic thread'? That's what you call it, is it?
These 'longest thread possible' posts (for that is the whole point of them)
are far worse than advertising spam, or 'off-topic posts', as they are
posted & reposted constantly, to as many as ten unrelated groups. They have
*no* purpose other than to piss off genuine newsgroup readers. It's all
part of the 'bugmunch manifesto'. If there was some merit in the posts,
some humour, or anything of interest, then fine! But is there? What starts
off as a reasonable question, asked by someone genuinely interested in the
Smiths, is instantly leapt upon, crossposted, & used merely to give some
sad little fools their kicks. If you think that's fair, then why not join
them?

you're missing the point. this is not about off-topic threads. this is about
EDITING. if the posts were trimmed down, no-one would complain.

Prejudice is holding a particular opinion, without knowledge of that
subject.
This situation is very differrent
Through experience, I have come to realise that you are an worthless little
turd.
It's not prejudice.

Could you transliterate them for us, Henry? Thanks in advance.
bufford, do u mean u want the chinese pronunciation of those titles?
henry
Yes, please. Even if my computer could present Chinese characters,
I'm sorry to say, I couldn't read them. So if you could write the
song titles out as their Chinese names would sound in English,
that would be great.
By the way, I'm "stuck" with the Smiths too. Most of the other
groups I really enjoyed in the middle 1980s, I have long since
forgotten. But not the Smiths. And I'm not British either: I'm
an American of Mexican and Polish descent, if you can believe
that.
Are you serious? Cascades aren't supposed to be trimmed down. The
whole point of then is to generate huge cascades of bullshit. Some
think it's fun, others don't (though I do agree with those who feel that
such threads should be limited to alt.flame and such groups).

right, but they're not even the least bit funny.

well good. i'm not going to argue. i guess this is why they make killfiles.
You're not even the least bit interesting.
well, compared to you and your magnificent wit, who is? i mean, only a comedy genius
would come up with an email address of pa...@stupid.co.uk. you are really brilliant.
maybe one day you'll find someone who is capable of loving you, and you'll get
married and have a family and you won't have the time on christmas to post your
horseshit. crazier things have happened, you know.
