I AM UNICRON is proud to announce the release of the lead single from
the forthcoming album "THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK". We have been hard at work
to bring you this song ahead of schedule. The hard-hitting,
no-holds-barred heavy metal masterwork "I AM UNICRON" can be downloaded
from the following URL:

Great lyrics ;-)

I think I prefer the tracks you released in the past MUCH more, but it
sounds like you had some fun recording that one.
Probably I'm wrong after all, so flame away.

Bye,

Stefan

"Dr. Benway! Dr. Benway! Dr. Benway!" goes the refrain. "A million
deaths were not enough for Dr. Benway!"

It's meant to be crap. I felt like a break from putting effort into
writing/recording songs so I've formed a shite-metal band. The sad thing
is that we'll probably end up doing some gigs at some stage and
shouldn't have to much trouble getting "I AM UNICRON" played on a
national rock radio station. I'm sure we'll go far... until people
realise that we're taking the piss. ^_^

So you actually fromed a real band and you are performing THIS ?
I wish you all the best with you airplay, though.
If there are people in this world who are taking you (/the UNICRON-gang)
seriously they probably don't deserve better than being laughed at.

I can totally understand having fun with a real band and taking a break from
your serious home-recording project (which is BTW really good).

One question: Are you recording your beautiful songs by yourself because you
want total control or couldn't you find anybody to play this kind of music
with ?

Anyway, all the best,

Stefan

Yup. Something to do. We'll suck live, though; there's no way I'll be
able to keep a straight face

Meh, someone on alt.music.radiohead thought it was serious after I'd
posted this tracklist:

01. I Am Unicron
02. Fuck Is A Word That Begins With U
03. Optimus Prime
04. Karl Marx Was A Nazi
05. Rise, Galvatron
06. Russian Exchange Uncle Bollocks
07. My Way Or The Die Way
08. Every Day Is A Barbeque
09. Eating John Malkovich
10. Teen Jesus
11. Starscream's Lament

So it's hard to tell how public reaction will be.

Thanks. I AM UNICRON is just for a laugh, really. Writing and playing
shitty metal songs is surprisingly enjoyable. ^_^

Sort of. It has more to do with the fact that home-recording is a hobby
of mine, really. But yeah, most -- no, all -- of my musician friends
like heavier music than the stuff I usually write. Next year I'm taking
a performance music course at uni [I did a slack-arse audition and got
in anyway, somehow], so the band they stick me in will *have* to play my
songs. Hah.

I don't visit alt.music.radiohead, but I would imagine that they would kinda
get to know you and your kind of humor (that is if you behave there like you
do hear from time to time).
I really enjoyed going through that setlist and at the same time I keep
wondering how someone could really take it serious.
On the other hand there could be some metal-Bands who might come up with
stuff like that and mean it ;-).

> So it's hard to tell how public reaction will be.

The more people fall for it the more fun for you guys.

> Thanks. I AM UNICRON is just for a laugh, really. Writing and playing

Having played it a hardcore band a few years ago I have to agree with the
fun part (posing as a metal band at the same time could multiply the fun).
But sitting at home an playing Dinosaur Jr.-inspired whiny (sp?) songs was
kinda ironic.

I think I retired from making any music, besides fooling around with my
guitar from time to time. It's sad, but after moving away from my hometown
and the people I could play some personal songs to without being
embarassed....

Good luck with your performing course !

Alas, I seem to have misplaced it. I wanted to wear it the other day
when I went to the supermarket in my pajamas [well, what passes for
pajamas: a shitty old pair of shorts and an insanely massive t-shirt my
grandmother sent me which has "HOLLYWOOD USA" emblazoned across the
front] but I couldn't find it.

True. The litmus test will be the CDs our friends get for Christmas. ^_^

'Tis a shame. I've never had that problem myself, since I don't have
anything I want to sing about. Vagueries are a specialty...

Yes, we're recording the album at the moment. The plan is to have it
finished by Christmas, but the way we're going it'll be done by the end
of next week. I'm going to set up an MP3.com page so that everyone can
experience the metal mayhem of I AM UNICRON.

Here are the lyrics for the chorus of "My Way Or The Die Way". We know
you will like them.

==============
You will do what I say
If you don't there's hell to pay
You will do what I say
'Cause it's my way or the die way

People, they have come and gone
They have gone 'cause they were wrong
Get down on your knees and pray
'Cause it's my way or the die way

Classic. I love all the transformer titles. I might like this music in the
same way that I enjoy listening to Tism. I know tism are terrible, and they
know they are terrible, but they are entertaining nonetheless.

I AM UNICRON is overjoyed to see that critical opinion of the debut
single "I AM UNICRON" has been overwhelmingly positive. It has restored
our faith that the world is indeed ready for our innovative brand of
heavy metal mastery. Rock on.

Oh, and out of character, I'm not sure a higher bitrate would improve
anything... speaking of character, I need to buy some facepaint for the

Never used Acid... I got the loops from e-drummer.net or something like
that. They're just pre-sequenced sample loops, AFAIK. I couldn't be
fucked programming things properly and the drummer only wants to do live
stuff [God knows why he's interested at all], so loops it is.

Get an Aardvark Direct Pro Q10. 8 high quality xlr pre-amps right to your
