The idea of this sounds interesting. I hadn't realized it was done
yet.
Tom
I love the shit out both songs.
This album will be a must buy.

Does anyone know what the release date will be?
I found it funny that Dark Tranquillity had just entered the studio
to record their new album, and there is a set release date. What if
they run into problems recording it and can't make the date?
Tom
I really wasn't sure what to think after CF disbanded, but this
exceeds my expectations greatly. I'm really looking forward to this
album now.
I never bothered with monotheist. I should see if I can score a cheap
used copy.

I found Monotheist to be excellent, as have a lot of listeners.
Although it may not be troo-cvlt enough for you.
Tom
Because it's sold more than 5 copies worldwide.
Tom
Hellz yeah.. hope there'll be a vinyl release.
SG
That's getting old, Tommy boy.
You get a piece of coal in your stocking.. :P
SG
While I disagree with TJ on a semi-regular basis, I do think he gets
unfairly stereotyped into that tr00 kvlt thing.
Not liking a popular (or semi-popular) band does not automatically
mean somebody has a counterculture agenda.
Besides, it distracts from poking Ian for liking In Flames!
e.

and that's the REAL agenda!
I don`t think TJ dislikes Celtic Frost. In fact I`m sure he`s a fan of the
early albums. It does strike me as unusual he wouldn`t have sought out a new
album by them, especially one that`s been so well received and with a
reputation for being such a grim affair. I do like it when I`m in the mood
but if I`m not...it`s too damn gloomy for me!
>Besides, it distracts from poking Ian for liking In Flames!
I can take all you`ve got.

It's a joke. A good natured ribbing of TJ. I know it rolls off of
his back, so no worries of offense.

Yeah, who could like them, I mean really.

It alters my mood. I have to watch out with this album, elsewise I
could be called to the office. When I listen at work, that is.

And then some, from what I've heard.
Tom
I fucking love Monotheist, almost as much as their classics. In fact,
I like it as much as To Mega Therion and obviously *light years* more
than Vanity/Nemesis (yawn).
While I understand that it's a "mood" album for some, I could put this
thing on at any time.
e.

gonna go spin it again!
I played Vanity / Nemesis the other day. It`s nothing special but I don`t
dislike it. After Colk Lake it felt like a revelation at the time.

I have heard the album. I like some of it, but haven't played it in
years, and not since Monotheist was released.
Tom
I've played Cold Lake more often than V/N in the last decade :)
e.

that is to say, about four times

That's 4 times more than a lot of people can handle. So, Monotheist?
what 50 plays or more?
Tom
It's at least that many for me.
I'm fairly certain it's in my top 10 most played records of the
decade.
e.

it's just that good

It's that good, but I don't know that I could manage to make it a
top ten listen for the decade.
Tom
Just not miserable enough to allow that.
exactly. caring what other people on the net think isn't kvlt.
Speaking to that, I saw your list on the other thread. You played
Green day?

I dig the second song, I went to it first off Ian's comments, but
will listen to the first song (longer) next.
Tom
Green Day's first two albums were quite indie.
e.

i hate those as well
Not knowing much about GD, except I dislike them, these are the two
he listed.
Green Day - 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours (pop punk)
Green Day - Kerrplunk! (pop Punk)
Tom
NP-Overkill-Immortalis
Yeah. Im a moderate fan of top notch pop punk, and the 2 lookout!
releases fall into that category. Honestly much more into the ramones/
queers/screeching weasel than green day. Long story short is theres a
section in my 300cd changer devoted to the last X discs I've purchased
where X is the size of a smallish cd book that I can pack up if im
gonna be away for a few days. Green day had been in there to the
point where they were getting replaced in the "newest" section and got
a final listen before either being filed with my other discs or going
into the main section of the changer with the favorites.
To quote e. What? No I-pod mp-3 player?

Haha, dude has a turntable.
Props where deserved.

sometimes it's just that simple
A turntable with no belt, but a spare needle. *FAIL*
I have a turntable with both a belt and a needle.

Turntables are so hard to take anywhere.

I have some vinyl records, but no turntable to play them on. I have
seen some that are made to hook up to a computer. But I doubt I'd ever
really want to play records again.
