Slayer have been awarded their first-ever Grammy Award. The track, "Eyes of
the Insane," from the band's most recent album, "Christ Illusion," took the
Grammy in the category of Best Metal Performance. Fellow category nominees
included Lamb of God, Mastodon, Ministry and Stone Sour.
This was Slayer's second Grammy nomination, the first being in 2002 for the
track "Disciple" (from "God Hates Us All"), also in the Best Metal
Performance category.
Slayer, currently headlining a North American tour, did not attend the
Grammy's presentation, but vocalist/bassist Tom Araya had this to say about
the win from his hotel room in Columbus, OH: " Jeff [Hanneman] and I put a
lot into 'Eyes of the Insane' so we're thrilled that the Grammy voters took
the time to listen to it, and then vote for it. We're out here on the road
and we're all really, really happy."

Just got done shoveling some right now. We got 4 to 6 inches a
couple days ago, and then another 5 to 6 yesterday.
Of course some in upstate NY got 10 feet. Yes. 10 feet.
Tom
That's a good thing that it wasn't aired. Slayer doesn't need the
type of fans that song will attract.

Again today. We've gotten a lot more snow this year than last.
Difference is, we've gotten most of it within a week or so.
We had no more than a dusting before Jan 21 all winter.
I don't know how much we've got on the ground, but the end of my
driveway has a pile of snow about 3 feet deep on each side. Just from
cleaning out the driveway at the end by the road.
It is supposed to be in the 40's all next week Mon-Fri. So perhaps
it will mostly melt away.

I'm counting on it!
It will likely be replaced a few times before the spring gets here.
