Keasbey nights - meaning of the lyrics

I think, or guess, maybe most of you have listened and sung along to
'Keasbey Nights' (wether Catch-22 or Streetlight.)
Has anyone ever payed the lyrics any mind? I just can't quite make out
what the song is about - the verses seem to me unrelated to each
other, and nothing really relates to the chorus.
Any thoughts on this?

(Don't get me wrong - Keasbey is one of my all-time favorite songs,
just want to know what it's about..)
