We feel that we've had many accomplishments over those eight years, such as,
the release of two cd's, "The Rhythm of Ska", on Steady Beat and "Cactus
Juice", on Moon. Touring the US several times and making lots of friends,
thanks to all of you who helped us on the road. We've supported the biggest
ska bands around, The Skatalites, The Specials, The Seletor, Laruel Akin,
Desmond Dekker, Fishbone, Bad Manners and Dave Wakeling.
This is the list of Mobtown's final shows, hope to see there.
Mar 27 - Soma's in San Diego w/Skeletones
Mar 28 - Showcase in Corona w/Catch 22
Mar 30 - Yesteryears in Pomona w/Catch 22
Mar 31 - Chain Reaction in Anaheim w/Skiptooth & Catch 22
Apr 2 - The Troubadour in Hollywood w/Skeletones
Apr 3 - Del Mar Station in Reno, NV w/Catch 22
Apr 16 - Rough and Tough in Long Beach w/Slackers (The last show)
Thanks to all, it's been fun, but it's time to move on.
Love, Peace and Ska, MOBTOWN
One of the few ska CDs I still listen to frequently.
>some low points
I think Amy leaving was a pretty low time for the band (even though this was in
reference to the ska scene). I think her vocals were one of my favorite parts
of the band. Also, when Malik left .. he too was a favorite part of the band
(plus we have the same birthday).
Well, I know this is a trite post, but I think this is a shame.

Was Malik the dude with dreads? At the last show, I saw a black dude
with a bald head, but I thought maybe that he just cut his hair.

Ehhh she's not THAT new. The first time I ever saw her with them was sometime
over summer at sacred grounds. the 2nd guitarist is youngster named Nate. That
was only his umm 3rd show I think playing with them. could be wrong there. I
thought they were better at that Whiskey show than a couple weeks before when
they had played at Leonardo's...

Wait...the Whisky has an upstairs? Oh yeah, I remember now, is this
something new there?
It's been there for as long as I can remember.. it's like a balcony and stuff..
theres tables up there and a bar too tho..
And that huge beam in the middle of the floor makes me kind of mad also...What
the hell is the point of putting it there? Oh yeah, I guess holding up the
actual building is important.
Hmmm.. not really. When I was downstairs I was surrounded by sweaty people and
the number of people just made it hotter.. Upstairs was quite roomy.. and they
have Tetris upstairs! But if I started playing Tetris I'd prolly end up not
seeing any of the bands...
Oh yah.. And I get MUCH better pictures when I take them from upstairs =D
