Ok, this may sound stupid..but I *really* need anykind of ska trumpet tabs you
might have! I already know how to play, but I need some sheet music..If you
can help in anyway, I will be forever grateful!!

what kind of notation? i mean what style? theres a lot of good horn
music for old 50s and 60s r and b tunes which are just as much fun or
more to play than ska stuff, you should check those out since theyre a
lot more readily available than ska music. i dont think ive ever heard
of anyone printing matching sheet music to ska songs.

Um, there's no such thing as trumpet tabs, tabs refers to tablature
which is for guitarists that can't read music.

i too play trumpet, but i won't give the music to you.
the only way you'll ever get any good is by teaching yourself the parts by
ear, especially if you're in a trad/jazzy band wherein you'll need to
improvise. just practice and get the skills, its easy.
after 7 years i can still barely read music, but i can play the trumpet well.
d-i-y. self reliance. other slogans like that.

actually for all of you uniformed people out there, there is a form of
trumpet "tab" used on the internet. because there is no form of sheet
music on the net (short of scanning them, which is illegal), this is how
its done:
f2 e2 a2 g2 a2 c3
the letter being the note and the number being the octave. in order to
read these you must be able to read music.
i can think of some goons, but none are trumpet players.

Hey, why not just try picking up the music by ear like most of us do?
Even if it takes you a long time, it will improve your inner hearing.

tablature has been used since the middle ages, when peple were seeking a
different way to notatate sting music to accompany vocal/sacred music. i
dont know where people get of on this whole thing of tablature being for
"fake" guitarists. i listen to all kinds of music from jazz to old
country and you can learn ANYTHING with tablature. you should TRY to
learn to read music too, but youll do just fine with tabs.
