Baltimore doesn't have that many"decent" ska bands....There's The Smooths, The
Mobtown Beat, The Sidewinders, The Smizokes, and maybe a few others......If you
want real specific info, E-mail me, because I'm in one of the bands and don't
feel like plugging it on AMS......For shows, try the 8x10 on East Cross Street
(pick up a City Paper and look at their ad, they usually have at least one ska
show a month)...The best place to go see a good show anywhere around here is in
Wheaton though, at Phantasmagoria....They get a lot of good acts in all the
time.......I think Skavoovie's coming around soon, and so is The Scofflaws I
believe....Their #'s 301-949-8886.....

Last time I checked, the Sidewinders were from College Park. Did they move
north?

Morgan.

Wel, if you wanna put it that way...I think the only actual Baltimore band is
The Smooths...The Mobtown Beat used to have a couple people living there, but
most are in Baltimore County now, I don't know about the Smizokes, but their
singer T.J. has a 301 area code.....Baltimore's scene is horrible in that
retrospect.....Most bands that live in B-more are all indie rock....

There are actually a lot of punk and ska bands in Baltimore. MSH is a great band w members from Evokatones https://m.facebook.com/MSHband/. They're playing with a lot of great bands at Hightopps- venue info is on that page. All of those bands are really good- Bumpin Uglies, Troll Tribe, Edjacated Phools, Stacked Like Pancakes, The Vibesman...pretty much anyone on that venue are great punk/ska/reggae/funk bands. There just tends to be mixed genres at Baltimore shows, but a lot of people prefer that for diversity.
