playing Jazz in Vancouver, BC

Hi evryone,

I'm planning to move to Vancouver in September. I was wondering if anyone
could give me good tips about opportunities to play Jazz there for an
intermediate player. Not necessarily perform in public but pratice a bunch.
I work during the day and sax is my hobby.

I've been doing a Jazz Combo (3 horns+rhythmic session) for the past 5 years
and would like to continue doing the same there. Any help is appreciated.

Hey, Guto!

I'm visiting Vancouver from the UK in September, but unlikely to have a horn
with me ... ;-(

When I asked about music in Van here a few weeks back, I was advised to
check the UBC music dept boards, and to read the Georgia Straight, a weekly
mag with more activities than you can shake a stick at...
