Apparently the tenor player on this 1956 hit was given credit on the label of
the "second pressing" of the 45 rpm. Anyone know the name or have the record to
check it? He lived in Harlem, NYC and played on many of the early R & B hits.

Thanks

Thanks Tim. Wonder if anyone has any personal info on this player that they
would like to share?

John , no THANK YOU - these type of players
are the.....essence and magic......of our music.

I think , when Brecker played with Joni Mitchell
they did " Why Do Fools"......and I heard _DIRECT_
refrences from Michael to that sax solo .
You can hear in " The Teenagers",,,player
James White....that ~hip~ palm key sound that
really was way ahead of it's time sound wise.
It separated him from others for sure .

On a side note,,,,, And I find this just plain fun
to tell people , cuz it shows something about music.
BUT , there is a cat I know in the
avant guard/ advanced compositional explorations bag
that LOVES Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers.

It's someone most would never ever.....guess.

Ok ready ??? The lover of " The Teenagers" ....
that is Mr. Far Out....Mr. 654-9*-26-b1:klm.

..........Anthony Braxton !!!!!!!!!!!
He knows all the words and can sing the sax solos.
So , ya never know - HOW DEEP- the well is....
James White was smokin'....ahead of his time for sure . Tim

It's Jimmy Wright [spelling] and it's on Google.

Thanks Tim.

BTW, one of David Leibmans' early inspirations was "Crossfire" by Johnny & the
Hurricanes. My how time flys.
