ian kirkham- anyone know if he has a website?

the guy sounds excellent, and also plays stritch < straight alto > with
Simply Red too.

I sometimes wonder...how many guys like this are so known but unkown?!?

In any case, anyone know of dvd's...cd's that he is also on?
he sounds really good.
some things kinda like a nyc thing like bobbby malach when he's in gigs
like this.

ian kirkham...any info would be helpful. he sounds great.

That is awful news about Michael Brecker that's the first I'd heard about
his illness! Here's hoping he gets the match needed.

i know a few guys who have done less mainstream gigs with IK around the North
West of England.
and some of the anecdotes surround his "perfect pitch" and virtuosity on the
instrument.
bit of an unsung hero really.

I don't know of any "extended" solo type works he's done so other than the
simply red stuff, which features some nice solo work, presumably we're only
hearing 10%(if that) of the guys capability.
shame imo.

I caught a bit of the Ginger Midget & his band on telly, recorded live
in concert hall in Havana, Cuba pretty recently. Whatever you think of
MH's vocals, no one can argue that he doesn't know how to put together
a band. they were really tight, laying varied cuban / Latin rhythms
under a lot of Simply Red's old tunes, with some local percussion
players and 2/3 backing vocalists. Kirkham was, as ever, one of the
saxes, but there wasn't much solo space -there's only one star in that
band.
The DVD's available, for the curious.
