Few weeks ago I saw an "older model" (Tenor) for sale
and I wondered if it was already one of the newer = better models.
Can anyone (maybe David Beecroft / Mike Duchstein --> greetings to
Berlin!) provide a serial number chart and maybe an idication at which
serial# the "good" models start ?
Is this possible at all?
I searched the net but did not find much information (even on the
Borgani Home Page).
I´m especially interested in information on Tenors.
Thanks in advance for any information,
Regards

My Borgani Tenor is ser# 19xxx J
Perhaps the J indicates that it is from the Joe Lovano designed series...?
It plays great and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Good luck!
I have a number for an old Borgani bari - 10xxx
and one for a Ponzol tenor - 04xxP
I'd imagine the P stands for Ponzol, given the J on the Lovano model.
There's a review of the Ponzol tenor on my web site. It's a
fascinating horn. The build is debatable in some places, but the sound
is awesome ( if you like that sort of thing, of course ).

The Ponzol model, also with the bell welded to the body, as reviewed by Steven
Howard is a different animal from the other (earlier) Borgani's. Only 50 or so
were made. Peter Ponzol set them up personally. I have one for sale, if
anyone is interested.
