attractive too. ~ Sarah McLachlan

Tara MacLean (with an "a" ;) is by far my favorite singer/songwriter.
She currenlty has one full-length album, "Silence", and an EP entitled "If
You See Me". Both are great, along the same line as Sarah but like
another NG-person said she is different (what good would it be for two
artists to be the same? ;) There are numerous other CD's which she
appears on, like the new soundtrack for "Teaching Mrs. Tingle" and the
original Lilith Fair CD's.

Her new album, "Passenger", should be out next month in Canada and
probably January in the States. Although I swear that is what Tara
herself said last weekend, I may be mistaken so I emailed Nettwerk and I
am awaiting confirmation.

Get "Silence" and her EP and I assure you that you will not be
disappointed :)

I'd recommend getting "Silence" first. I got it way cheap and it's probably
one of the best female singer CDs I have (except Sarah Mclachlan, and,
possibly Amy Grant)

-When is that darn new CD supposed to come out anyhow? And cheap?

Just as a suggestion, see her live if you can... Her voice is very powerful
live. Tara MacLean actually stole the show at the Denver Lilith Fair during
her own set and particularly when she sang a verse during the encore "I shall
be released." It would be nearly impossible to steal the show out from under
Sarah, but Sarah has a gracious way about her (she sort of lets other people
steal the show, which I think is a wonderful quality).

Also, I recommend Tara's "If You See Me" EP over "Silence". Even Tara herself
admits (during a show she did at the Bluebird in Denver) that Silence is "a
little over-produced . . . good for playing while you're cleaning the house."
Silence is still a fantastic album, but her voice (and what a voice it is) is
much more up front in the mix on the "If You See Me" EP.

Since all I have is "Silence," I can't comment on the EP. All I know
is that "Silence" is one of my all-time favorite albums.

I dunno about "cheap," but I've read here in this newsgroup that
Tara's new album, "Passenger," is due out in October.

"If I Fall" ended up being a pretty successful single.
