Folks:

Does anyone know what the status is of the
Ottawa band Limelight? I did not get a chance
to see them on their last round of gigs 8-(.

Cheers
Barry

Paul, the guitarist, can answer better than I can, but...

They still have a couple of upcoming gigs in the Ottawa area, I think. After
that they are searching for a new singer and then, presumably, back to gigs.
They are very good and you should catch them if you can.

I have had a chance to catch them a few times so far.
I REALLY enjoy the show and would like to know when
the next gig is. It will be a long time before we see
Rush on tour again. They put there own twist on the
music which makes it more enjoyable.....

Hi Barry,

Well, Here's the status.

We let go our singer and, although he had agreed to do the last
3 gigs, he reneged a few days before the second one. Therefore,
we got a replacement singer at the last minute: Brad Milner, of
'Tokyo Rose' fame, no stranger to the Ottawa (and national) music
scenes.

Brad filled in and did an ADMIRABLE job at our Halloween gig
at the Prescott Hotel on Preston, and he will perform with us
tonight at the Windsor Hotel in Buckingham.

At this point, we are still looking for another singer, although
we are looking at the possibility of making Brad a permanent
member of the lineup. Brad's amazing voice lends iteself well
to the classic Rush (Since he's been with us, we've added 'In
the Mood' and 'Temples of Syrinx'), and if he stays with us, we
will most likely orient our repertoire towards that era.

However, I am greatly interested in doing more recent songs, and
it might help to have a more flexible singer (if we can find one...)
So time will tell.

At this time, we are on hiatus, as we locate another singer,
polish the repertoire, and we'll see where we go from here.

I will keep you updated on this forum, and let you all know
what will become of LIMELIGHT...

Stay tuned...

Paul is to machines what machines are to men:

Tokyo Rose is a good band.. in fact I think they've done Rush
covers in their set before.

I'll sing for you, Paul.
