Oh, I think I actually hurt myself laughing at that.

I think what I hated most about the prequels is Lucas took the most bad ass
villain of all time and made him a whiney bitch-ass teenager.

Lets look at this logically:

A) "Whiny bitch-ass teenager" is redundant.

B) Every adult was once a teenager, even the psychotic ones like Manson,
Dahmer, Jim Jones etc.

C) Vader was as much of a tool as every single other disciple of Palpatine.
They all served at his whim and they all died, if not in battle for him,
then indeed at his own hands. They were all his tools, they all were
malleable and subject to the "quicker, easier, more seductive" lures of the
darkness and deceptions of his craft.

Without the robotic leg extensions, the breathing pack and the
basso-profundo vocoder, Vader was indeed but another human, albeit one with
skill second only to Palpatine himself. Okay, so Darth Maul had that freaky
face-paint and the two-edged saber, but he also never spoke, so there was no
need to worry about his lines, character or backstory, and he got punked by
Kenobi, when Kenobi was still just a padawan.

Anyway -- if it weren't for the teen years, people would be expected to
function like adults by the age of 12, something which neuroscience tells us
is not actually possible as the brain's judgement centers and other wetware
are still developing well into the college years in most cases.

Compare Anakin "whiny bitch-ass teenager" Skywalker to John "tough
badass future leader of the human race" Connor.

While I'm no Star Wars freak, I thought I remembered Darth Maul having a
spoken line in SW I or II. Funny story about Maul from what I read.
Apparently he was the martial arts trainer/stunt coordinator who was
trying to teach the guy they cast as Maul, but he was so good that they
ended up nuking the actor they hired and used the stunt guy to play
Maul. Maybe that's why he doesn't act or speak so much as menace.
