Hehehehe... I dont like Mystic Rhythms either. heoaheo... And now Ive
listened to Bravado 5 times straight and its still not doing anything
for me... Jacob's Ladder kinda sucks in some parts, and Xanadu (even
though I absolutely love the last 5 min) could do without the first 5
min on keyboard.

I'm sorry, but where exactly did you hear about "radio waves from outer
space" in that particular song? I'm really quite curious about that,
since it is nowhere mentioned in the lyrics.

Definitely Tai Shan. Where's the FF button? (But I love Lock and Key).

"How can anybody be enlightened? Truth is, after all, so poorly lit." - Neil Peart
If you dn't like those songs, are there any you do like? How can you
call yourself a Rush fan and eliminate some of their best music? By the
way, Aimee Mann's new album is getting fantastic reviews all over the
world. It's called "I'm With Stupid". "Whatever", her previous album is
one of the best I have heard in a long time. So do yourself a favor and
check her out before throwing insults around.
Thanks
Chris

I've never heard of song called "The Razor's Edge" , are you refering
to "The Pass"...? Also, it's "The Big Money" and Counterparts is
pretty cool too.
I hate it when die-hard Rush fans don't know the names of the songs. I
especially get a kick out of DJ's that say:
"and thet was Rush, with "The Spirit of The Radio"..".....just my 2
cents
> Definitely Tai Shan.
Definitely NOT. "Tai Shan" is in every way a masterpiece. Try some
loser song off their first album-- "Need Some Love" comes to mind. Now
THAT'S something to laugh at.

AARRRGGGHHH!!! Why do people insist on flaming and questioning the
"fanship" of others who happen to dislike some of Rush's songs??!!!
I'm not pointing a finger at Chris, but his is the most recent post
I've seen that does this.
Where is it written that to be a Rush fan you must love EVERYTHING
they ever recorded? I think one of my strongest attractions to Rush is
that their music affects people differently. People "read" different
things in Neil's lyrics, get different feelings from various musical
passages, etc.
If any band has professed the strength of the individual, it is Rush.
People have individual tastes, likes, and dislikes...there's no reason
to stifle it.
As for me, I don't care if I ever hear the followng songs again:
1. Speed of Love
2. Neurotica
3. I Think I'm Going Bald
4. Rivendell
5. Face Up
- Dave
also how can any fan not worship or at least like Cygnus????
also the slide guitar on best that i can???
All boring.
"Life's like Sanskrit read to a pony."
_FBN_ - Best That I Can (vocals turn me off)
_COS_ - pretty much all of it with the exception of Bastille Day
and Closer To The Heart.. and maybe a little of the epic peices.
_2112_ - nothing.. good album
_AFTK_ - Madrigal (snore)
_Hem_ - nothing.. great album
_PeW_ - Different Strings (puke), Jacob's Ladder (boring/anoying)
_MP_ - nothing.. perfect album
_Sig_ - Countdown.. (dated.. snore)
_GuP_ - Red Lenses (plain goofy),
_PoW_ - Emotion Detector, Middletown Dreams (snores)
_HYF_ - Mission (Snore), Tai Shan (Snore), High Water (Snore),
Second Nature (Snore)
_Presto_- over all good album..no big complaints
_RTB_ - Heresy (snore), rest of the album is OK..
_CP_ - nothing.. excellent album.. even speed of love makes up
for its dullness with some nice syth guitar shimmerings/
creative drumming... Everyday Glory is one of the greatest
Rush songs ever.. lyrically, musically.
Sure some of these songs I've dissed, mayhave sounded good in the 80's
but overall timelessness is what I'm looking at.
Hey.....the last time I checked, wasn't closer to the heart on AFTK?
Hmmm......I can understand why you don't like the version of it on
COS!
Steve

uh, minor point. Closer To The Heart is on AFTK. Perhaps you mean
Lakeside Park?

: All boring.
I am a staunch defender of the eponymous album, despite the
absence of Neil...I feel it reminds us all of the inherent tomfoolery
Alex and Geddy rely on for writing alot of the music, and also that they
were raucous 21-year olds once too before they started splendidly signing
all of Neil's heavy lyrics (which this submission in way detracts
from)...also, I cut my guitar-playing teeth on that album...it's a lot
funner to rip along with than Hold Your Fire from an axmaster's
standpoint....
J. Brown
And Middletown Dreams is probably my favorite song off Power Windows, as well of
being one of my favorite songs lyrically!!
Jim
And "The Enemy Within" is likewise a killer tune off the fear trilogy--
one of those few Rush numbers you actually feel like dancing to! And
"Madrigal" is a sweet number as well. Come on, guys, let's admit it:
the worst Rush song is the laughable "Need Some Love."
Sam
"The Enemy Within" _Grace Under Pressure_
(what's so bad about this?)
"Digital Man" _Signals_
(get off the crack-killer bass
"Fly By Night" _Fly By Night_
(classic rush, as I said........)
"Madrigal" _A Farewell To Kings_
(you've blown it again)
"Middletown Dreams" _Power Window_
(this song wont change the world--either will you)
If you're going to smoke crack, do it somewhere esle.........
If in fact there are five "worst" Rush songs, they would have to be from
after "Grace Under Pressure" and before "Presto" (I guess that would be
"Power Windows" and "Hold Your Fire" then). I base this theory on my
impression that Geddy, Alex & Neil seemed to be less thrilled about what
they were doing during that period (from interviews and IMHO, the
lacklustre but still pretty decent "Hold Your Fire" show in Toronto).
Just my twisted turn on things.

Hey KT I think that CHICO BUM was just replying to the question
"What are the 5 worst RUSH songs" That was started by someone in this group
So, lighten up!
By the way Who is us?

Amen on "Losing It." I'm always a little disappointed when I see them
live and the don't play it. I guess it just wouldn't be the same
without the electric violin, but I always hope they'll find a way around
that.
Middletown Dreams blows me away too. Intense!
