Which one of Link's tunes was "Rockabilly"? I'd always heard that there
isn't any instrumental "Rockabilly" songs.

I wouldn't call Link anything close to RAB except maybe when he played with
Robert Gordon. His music is not totally instrumental either. Actually he can
play many different styles. I have an LP from the early 70's that is all
acoustic guitar and it's great. He also does some country. Judging from his
recent shows, I would say his favorite style is balls-to-the-walls power chord
rock and roll.

agreed, though most rockabillies can dig his stuff.

basically I think of him as juvenile delinquent surf-trash music.

I would have to at least put Link Wray in the category of rockabilly simply
because of his influence on rockabilly bands. Many give him credit as
being the one who inspired them to pick up their guitars. Besides, who on
this ng does not want to get up and dance when they hear "Rumble"?

Well, I think you'd have to consider Link's "Hillbilly Wolf" pretty close to
being rockabilly. Check out Norton Records Missing Links Volume One, it's named
after this tune and features more Link material in this vein.

Missing Links Volume Four has a Link doing a fantastic version of "Be Bop A
Lula" with the riff from "Lucille." It's badass.
