In the latest issue of Perfect Sound Forever <http://www.perfectsoundforever.com>, you'll find (among other things):
ROCKIN' IN CHICAGO BEFORE '65
Midwest Madness Pre-Beatles by Art Fein
"My rock 'n' roll world opened when I was 10 and a half. We were living in 3315 W. Palmer. My family was not an Ed Sullivan family, we watched Steve Allen, and I'm a better person for it. Allen was sidesplitting, spontaneously, intelligently funny (and from Chicago!). But this night, January 7th, 1957, we had Sullivan on for some reason, and there was Elvis Presley."
