I always thought the singer was just unsatisfied with his life in

It's pretty awful, but it's at least as good as anyone's attempt would
be at explaining this song. (I take exception to the first line,
though -- the intro is clearly "borrowed" from "Hard Luck Woman" by
Kiss.)
