I would have to say that 'Brain Drain' was the Ramones' greatest
album.It contains perhaps the greatest song of all time, "Pet Sematary".

Anyone else think 'Brain Drain' is awesome?

Wow, not only is it not the greatest, I'd say it was the WORST! Sorry to say
that. I mean, "Merry Xmas" and another song were recorded during a DIFFERENT
session. That album like lacks anything. Plus, it's lazy. Oh well. Go
listen to Road To Ruin!

I kinda dig 'Brain Drain'. It's got 'I Believe In Miracles', 'Don't Bust My
Chops', 'Zero Zero UFO', Let The Punishment Fit The Crime', 'Palisades
Park'......that record fuckin' rocks. It's my wife's favorite 'Mones record.
It's prolly in my top 5. My all time favorite.....'Rocket To Russia' but
'Road To Ruin' is way up there too. I can honestly say that there's not a
Ramones record that I don't like. They're my fuckin' Beatles.

yeah, a bunch of top notch songs on this, pet sematary, merry xmas
(that's one of my fave 'mones tunes), palisades park, miracles plus
this slow tune...um...forgot the name...some joey song.
you also get this fabulous picture on the backside, let alone the cover
is mucho shitty. arguing about albums is kinda stupid but i like this
better that animal boy or halfway.

Brain Drain is a good record...but in no way their best. The first 4 are
classics....but ALL their albums have their worth. There's not really a bad
album. And by the way....some of you mentioned you liked Palisades Park from
Brain Drain. It is a good version of the song. But the original from the 60's
is better. They left out the carnival sounds in the Ramones version that was
in the orginal version..that made that song cool.

Brain Drain was more of a run at heavy metal which was peaking at the
time. I would say BD is their worst along with Halfway to Sanity. You
can do much better with the first four plus Pleasant Dreams,
Subterranean Jungle, Animal Boy, and Too Tough to Die.

i'm sick of this screeching weasel type sonic iguana produced crappy
bullshit. the real ramones sound and spirit (tm) can be found on
those nice cute labels like mutant pop, imperfekt, brucemonkey...
don't get me wrong, i mucho enjoyed the riverdales s/t & the second
has 4 or so cool songs on it& i also gimme some screeching weasel
fix now and then, but it's so fucking genetic.
my top five ramones discs should be:
1. leave home
2. it's alive
3. rocket to russia
4. ramones
5. road to ruin, played by mtx

80 million bucks for a contract. i mean, who would pay shitty michael

I do actually think it's one of their best!
really consistant throughout. really strong.i love every song on that lp &
think it is one of the best studio lp's they did if not the best.
