Someone emailed me this load of nonsense and I thought I would pass it along
for your entertainment. I don't buy any of this, but some of you would know
if the queen references are true, but you are going to have a very hard time
convincing me.

Enjoy
-------------------------
Another One Bites The Dust by Queen. This song is well known is backmasking
circles. It contains two naturally occurring speech reversals that say,
"Decide to smoke marijuana," and "Give some acid." However, some people say
the reversal says, "Its fun to smoke marijuana."

Sent in by Brian Jones From "We will rock you" by Queen - "Bring us here to
put on ash"

are a few more words in there too later on in the track....anyone got a

No, no. We all believe it implicitly. And here's another thing, it's a well
established fact: if you get enough mon... er, Usenet subscribers to type
away for long enough and send enough random posts, eventually they'll churn
out the entire Pharmacological Works of Satan in reverse order.

Or I might have got that slightly wrong somewhere.

Here's a repost from AMQ. I'm not claiming any of these is true or
intentional, no flaming please. Just for everybody's enjoyment.

From: k5...@aol.com
Subject: BACKWARD MESSAGES IN QUEEN
Date: 1997/09/19

I don't believe in this nonsense, I think it's all by accident! But some
religious fanatics I know told me about the following backward messages
in Queen's music!

1 Another one bites the dust (backwards says "Decide to smoke marijuana"
or "It's fun to smoke marijuana" and "Be a good boy")

2 Jesus (backwards the phrase "It all began with the 3 wise men" says
"I saw the naked body" or something about "a naked body")

3 The prophet's song (backwards the phrase "Still I dare not laugh at
the madman" says "God is dying, god is dead" very clearly)

4 Your my best friend (backwards the phrase "And I want you to know
that my feelings are true" says "Fuck the lord, he's no one")

5 Fat bottomed girls (backwards the phrase "Ain't no beauty queens in
this locality" says "Satans so beautiful" and "Powers found in satan"
After awhile)

6 We are the champions ( the phrase "I've done my sentence" backwards says
"Satan's coming back" or "It's Satan's son we beg" but not very clearly)

7 One vision (backwards and forwards says "God works in mysterious ways")

As I said I don't believe this garbage, but its kinda neat to hear
these messages.

Frankly I think it's all a coincidence, but nevertheless it's kinda creepy
to hear "Play backwards hear words sung" at the end of Stairway to Heaven by
Led Zep.

Another thing I just discovered, looking on that site. They reverse a
recording of Bin Laden speaking in Arabic and come out with a very vague and
muffled sounding "I will buy you the palace of evil." Surely if it was true
it would come out in Arabic backwards as well? It's all crap IMO.

Hey, funny you should say that. I tried it with one of the PM's speeches
and I could quite clearly hear someone say "It's all crap IMO".

Oh yes, sorry. That'd be me.

i remember the brouhaha when "Stairway To Heaven" was the target of
these outrageous claims - so much, in fact, that a Winnipeg radio
station went as far as to play all of "Stairway" backwards and then
asked listeners what they heard. At least on person said he heard "the
mayor of Winnipeg is a hamster" :)

My favorite intentional one has to be Girlschool's "Future Flash",
where right at the end you hear this backwards stuff. Played backwards,
you get "Oi, don't you know you're ruining your needle? We only have one
thing to say about all this, and that's b*ll*cks! We are Siamese if you
please, we are Siamese if you don't please"......

Not exactly the same thing, but what are the wierd voices at the beginning of

It's Freddie saying "God moves in mysterious ways", slowed down.

I decided myself to put it backwards, and found out the joke!

It's like Gorbachov and Reagan (uhm... the US President at the time) talking...
it's in Portuguese, but using some Russian and American accent... I sent my
finding to the band and they confirmed the joke.

On the second song is from (former) Prince - now "the symbol". I cannot
remember the album (might be Purple Rain)... on vinyl... the last song (side B,
I believe), there was some strange chorous. At that time I had a regular pickup
that needed to be turned on the run the album... without doing that I could
still reverse manually the album and found that!

"Hello, how are you?
I'm fine, cause I know that the lord is coming"

No shit... and for me to capture something not in my own language, believe me...
it must be clear... and it was in 1987 (15 years ago)....

pretty normal all of a sudden. maybe thats the trick?

I've played AOBTD backwards....and in fact I have an mp3 of that I got off
the hub, I believe.....and admittedly it does kinda sound like "Its fun to
smoke marijuana"....

I think there were a few others I used to know about....Def Leppards
"Rocket" (album version) from Hysteria had a little backward message at the
beginning of it, that when played backward said "Stop fighting with the gods
of war", the chorus to "Gods Of War" which was another song on the same
album.

And there was another backward message that I used to know about on an Iron
Maiden song, that said something like "Don't meddle with things you don't
understand"....but the name of the album or song escapes me at the
moment....

The Def Lep and Maiden ones were there on purpose, I think the Queen one was
just a strange audio anomaly.

Microsoft's Sound Recorder. BTW I did that to Dragon Attack, and the part when
it says "Low Down" and stuff, backwards it sounds like "My Lord".
