Good evening all you rock & rollers.... well, it's time for yet
another pooling of thoughts of the 'best of...' variety. What's your
favourite Queen album artwork AND what's your favourite Queen phase
(appearence wise: e.g. hair, dress etc.) To get the ball rolling, I'd
have to say 'New of the World' is my favourite piece of cover art,
followed very closely by 'Innuendo'... actually, I think that would
have to be a tie. It's so nice to see some interesting artwork as
opposed to merely a picture of the band. As for my phase, it would
most definately have to be the late Queen period, from 'The Miracle'
onwards. I love Freddie's stubble - such style! And from that period,
I'd have to say, comes my all-time favourite Queen pic - the lads on
the front of the Miracle Express for the 'Breakthru' video - those
waistcoats...!!!

I love the SHA cover.......I don't know why, but I always have. It's not the
vaseline or wetness or anything like that, it's just a reminder of the early
70's when I first got into Queen. Seeing that cover takes me back. As for
favorite appearence wise....the mid 80's. Roger was such a hottie then! :)
Sorry, I had a "chick" moment.

My fave album art is from:
Queen 1&2
Sheer Heart Attack
A Night at the Opera
The Miracle

My fave Queen phase was prolly 70s to 80s! But I think Freddie looks SEXY AS
HELL in the I'm Going Slightly Mad Video :-)!

Same here. I recently got a picture framer to split the NOTW album
cover I've had since 1977 and mount it in two black frames. Looks cool
IMHO.

Cheers,

I have to say that these 'Best-Of' polls are getting staler by the post, but
since I'm here...

Favourite cover is Queen II. Classic pose, legendary, timeless, paved the
way for Bo Rhap. So much for the music on that album though, ;-)

Worst cover is The Game. The CD issue was absolutely awful since it replaced
the original "mirror-ey" silver with a dull gray. Plus the leather-clad
image never suited Queen anyway. So much for the photography as well!

Favourite Queen era (looks-wise) was 1970-1974. The band were young, full of
vigour and life, fresh and fitted into their era! Loved the long hair,
make-up, the costumes and the overall dark, gloomy atomosphere. Photography
from Queen II by Mick Rock was superb. After '74-'75, the band just never
seemed fashionable again. Although The Works era wasn't too bad, despite
silly hair on John.

Worst Queen era (looks-wise) was Hot Space days. Daggy clothes with silly
arrows on them, totally inane-looking sunglasses on Freddie and overall
daggy look for the band.
