Hello ALL.

Im looking for some suggestions for some MUST HAVE Lp's. Ive done KC, Eno,
Fripp, Penguine Cafe and are looking for some other suggestions. I recently
bought an early Genesis album as there was alot of discussion about them here
a month ago. I was pleasantly suprised.... Oh yeh... Of course I done Tull. So
any one with any suggestions please post...

BTW : I haven't seen any discussion here of Penguine Cafe. I have two ablums
"Music from Penguine Cafe", and "Broadcasting from home". I would recommend
"Music form Penguine Cafe" as being the better album. I have found them to
vary from fairly Jazzy pieces to slow ambient tracks. There is a large
Jazz & Classical influence on the group. Above all they are a creative and
very tight group.

Daniel.

PS. I dont have external mail privaliges at the moment so I won't be able to
reply directly. Ill have to make a posting!

I have the live "When in Rome..." CD by the PCO. I only bought it becuse it
featured Geoff Richardson (from Caravan). The album is OK but after a while I
found it a little tiresome.

Funny, I thought "Broadcasting from home" was better. Oh well - opinions eh?

Penguin Cafe seems to revolve mostly around Simon Jeffes, who can be found
on some mid-70's Rupert Hine or John Perry release, doing string arrangments.
Though the lineup is fairly classical in instrumentation the first lp was
produced my Brian Eno as part of his discreet music minimalists series,
and Eno hates classical music, at least of a more traditional nature. So
I'd hestitate to lump it too much into the classical area. I liked what I've
heard but I don't know how to describe it. Here's a list of some releases
by Jeffes and PC.

I have three albums (are there any more, does anyone know?), apart from those
two mentioned above, also "Signs of Life" which was released in 1987, I think.
I think I think (my opinion tends to vary, depending on mood) that the last
one is the most enjoyable.

Jan-Olov
