CHILEAN PSYCH/PROG/ROCK LP Aguaturbia s.t.
There you have it! One of the rarest records ever to come out of Chile. In
Chile the pressinx always were small and besides that the dictatory regime
destroyed a lot of records to kill oppositional sounds. Well you can say
this
cover is controversial! The cover shows a picture of 4 naked hippies, I
guess
in those times that really caused some consternation. Nowadays we got used
to
it... This cover got rejected. Too bad that this cover is a copy.
I don't think I have to tell much about the music. Psychedelic rock of the
highest callibre. Jamming styled heavy rock, sometimes with bluesy touches.
I
think this music is very magical. All singing is in English.
Tracklisting: baby/erotica(nice interplay between Carlos Corales guitar and
Denise horny moaning) /alguien para amar/ah ah ah ay//rollin' and
tumblin'/uno
de estos dias/carmesi y trebol/eres tu. Indeed there are quite some trax
that
didn't appear on the Background compilation, and one song is much longer on
this lp.
As a bonus you'll get a copy of an article about this band in a Chilean
youth
magazine "Ritmo" from 1973. It's very interesting because at then time
Aguaturbia was actually supergroup, the only original members were Denise
and
Carlos, additional members were from the Apparitions (pre Blops) and Sergio
del Rio (Jockers guitarist). Too bad in this formation they only did 2 gigs
and never recorded...
The record is VG- and the sleeve is xerox copied, wich is normal over there.

PSYCH/GARAGE/BEAT LP Los Shakers Beatles
Their awesome debut album by Uruguay's best beat band! They recorded this
album just after they moved to Argentinia. All singing is in English.
In the Magic land book is written about this album: "Their first album
(1965)
had a strong dominating beat all along the tracks, framed within a
completely
dynamic concept and excellent compositions. This LP included 'Rompan todo'
('break it all') their all time biggest hit, as well as other remarkable
songs
like "Que amor" ('what to love') and only two covers: 'keep searchin' (by
Dell
Shannon) and Lesley Gore's 'it's my party'."
Original Argentinian pressing on Odeon pops. The record is in VG+ condition,
but it plays much better. A very heavy pressing on solid vinyl. The sleeve
is
in EX condition, just the opening seam is worn and the man I bought it from
wrote his name on the back ....ages ago. Has the original inner sleeve. Nice
copy!

PERUVIAN PSYCH/GARAGE/BEAT LP Los Yorks '67
Their awesome dubut from 1967! Proto type of crazy beatmusic from South
america. All tracks are in go-go style (as they call it on the sleevebehind
each song). Some killer tracks here! Go berzerk!
This is a slightly later Peruvian press on Mag. The record is in near mint
condition (just one scuff). The sleeve is in VG+ condition, one seam is a
bit
worn and coloured in with black ink. The back of the cover is a xerox
copy,not
very unusual in Peru.

CHILEAN PSYCH/BEAT LP Los Tejanos vibraciones
Great instrumentals a go go with a psych edge. Great guitars, swirling
organs
and garagey rhythms. This is a very rare album, the chilerock specialist
that
I know didn't even knew it and he immediately went berzerk!
Wait a minute... I'm just reading the sleeve notes and it says that this is
a
matter a fact the second album by Los Red Juniors (yes, with Aguaturbia's
drummer!). By this time they changed their name to 'Los Tejanos'.
Here's some of the liner notes translated: "And here they are, the elements
whereupon can only be played by the groups that put together their
conditions and their musical qualities: special mixes, electronic effects,
duals of organo and guitar, as in the case of its excellent version of
'vibrations', which allows to show a different personality of them and
unmistakable in our record with ambitance."
Original Chilean pressing on Polydor (49007). The record is in EX
condition,
the sleeve is VG++.

PERUVIAN PSYCH/ROCK LP Traffic sound s.t.
Traffic Sound: s.t. a.k.a. Tibet's Suzettes (3rd album)
For me this is their best album, here they were on the top of their artistic
career. That's why the record company could afford to spend extra money on
the
triple fold out sleeve, their bandleader Manuel Sanguinetti told me.
Every track is great! Long tracks (3 per side). Peruvian rock rules! Some
groovy local elements mixed in complete this album for me. Vernon Joynson
writes about this album: "Their third album, housed in a mindblowing triple
fold out cover and sometimes known as Tibet's Suzettes (the name of the
superb
opening cut - a potpourri of woodwind, guitars, keyboards), represented a
further progression on their second effort. It is a mega-rarity, but
fortunately was reissued on CD by Background (a UK label) in 1993. This
truely
is an excellent progressive rock album - every track's a winner and they're
all sung in English! They are full of excellent rhythms, guitar and woodwind
playing. Recommended!". What can I add to that?
Original Peruvian pressing on the black Mag label from 1970. The record is
in
VG(+) condition. It looks VG but it plays VG+ to EX. Keeper copy. Strong
pressing! The sleeve is in VG+ condition. Everything's still there, just the
heavily laminated cover is a bit brewsed.

PERUVIAN PSYCH/ROCK LP Traffic sound LUX
Their great last album from 1972! According to Manuel Sanguitetti this album
was never completely finished as it was ment to be, but I never noticed it
before and I can't hear it. The band split before the album was finished and
some vocals were added that were suppose to be different. I guess so! Most
tracks have plenty of drug references. Titles like inca snow, big deal and
white deal say it all.
But of course this is a great album in the mood of their predecessors. I
really like those indian/inca influences that are clearly there. Awesome
psychedelic cover art.
Original Peruvian pressing on Sono radio from 1972.
The record is in VG condition. The sleeve is also VG. All the seams are
taped
for extra strength. The back of the cover had been folded.

PERUVIAN LATIN/PSYCH Zulu TRAFFIC SOUND BREAKS
The great solo album by Traffic Sound's keyboard player Zulu. Nice mix of
moogs and heavy latin rhythms, but in a very unusual way. I never heard
something like this before but I really like the local influences on this
album, that makes it very groovy. This guy is pretty versatile as well.
Original Peruvian pressing on Odeon/Iempsa from the 70S. Nice thick vinyl.
The record is in EX condition. The laminated sleeve is also in EX condition.
Has the inner and some extra notes by Zulu himself, copied on official
Iempsa
papers, maybe this was a promo copy?

URUGUAY FOLK/PSYCH LP Mateo solo bien se lame
Recently I've lost my heart for Uruguayan music. Why? Because it's so
special.
Uruguay has always been kind of isolated, so local talents had the
opportunity
to flourish. Mateo is playing all the instruments on this album. With just
an
acoustic guitar, drums and his beautiful voice he is creating a very special
atmosphere. Sometimes there a trancey/hypnotic feel. To be played in the
dark.
No wonder he later went crazy.
Uruguayan pressing on Clave. The record is in EX condition, just some thin
hairlines. The cover is in VG(+) condition. The bottom has some water damage
and there's a very small part missing.

PSYCH/BEAT/GARAGE LP Los Mac's GG session
This is definately of my favorite albums from Chile! Their great second
album!
Rare as fuck! It has a lot of covers, but all in that destinctive los Mac's
style.
"an effective amalgam of psychedelic and garage music", to quote Vernon
again.
Tracklisting: If I need someone/what do you want with me?/red rubber
ball/don't let me be misunderstood/lady jane/bus stop//she's just my
style/mr.
tamborine man/guide me to your life/I'm a believer/what kind of feeling/the
wanderer.
Original Chilean pressing on RCA (CML-2505-X) from 1967.
The record looks VG but plays VG+, very solid pressing! Only in between the
songs you hear slight background noise. The music is so LOUD! The sleeve is
in
VG++ condition.

CHILEAN PSYCH/BEAT/GARAGE Los Mac's s.t. 4th album!!!
WoW! Have you ever seen this one offered for sale? The last and final album
from one of the best Chilean beatgroups: los Mac's. According to Ron Moore
their best album. Beat and psychedelic records in Chile are in the last 10
years about completely disappeared. Great garagey psychedelic beat music in
the vein of their other albums.
Original Chilean pressing on RCA (CML-2585-X) from 1968.
The record is in VG condition, the sleeve is EX-.

PERUVIAN PSYCH/PROG/ROCK El Alamo
This is an ultrarare album from Peru, but unfortunately there is no sleeve!
Only the record, but it's the music that counts. And that's pretty wild!
Vernon Joynson writes about this album: "The vocals are in English. The
material is all self-penned and typified by the soft rock of songs like
Good night, sweet my woman and I cry, whilst that distinctive
Latin American beat is always present and represented by songs like
Borgona. The album closes with it's magnum opus, the titlecut - an
adventourus voyage into the world of psychedelica."
Original Peruvian pressing on Decibel from 1971. The record is in EX
condition. If you want I can make a color copy of the sleeve of my personal
copy.

CHILEAN PROG/PSYCH/FOLK LP Los Jaivas s.t.
Their first official album. Of course they did "el volantin" before this one
but that one is a a bit more rarer. Side one is more songs based, but great
ones. Nice Andean Inca folky stuff mixed with progressive/psychedelic rock
influences. I like the use of native instruments, especially mixed with fuzz
electrical guitars. Side 2 is a bit weirder with just 2 long tracks that are
very trancey, hypnotic experimental psych. If you close your eyes you are
there! Spooky!
Original Chilean pressing on Machitun, an excellent sublabel of IRT
(ILS-120)
from 1972.
The record is in EX condition, the sleeve is near mint. Nice cover art.
Recommended!

BRAZIL PSYCH/PROG/TROPICAL LP Os Mutantes
For me this is one of the best albums ever to come out of Brazil. This debut
album by Mutantes is certainly their best album. Pretty weird and twisted
stuff here! These guys are way out there! Strange sound effects, haunting
vibes, backwards stuff, cheesy hammond organs, over the top fuzz guitars,
you
name it - this record has it.
Vernon Joynson writes about this album: "Their 1968 debut was an album of
considerable diversity and experimentation, wich leads some to describe it
psychedelic. Elements of gimmickry and sound effects are apparant on th
opening cut Panis Et Circenses and the finale Ave gengis khan.
Others like <Adeus Maria fulo and Sentor F have distinctive Latin
rhythms, whilst Le Premier Bonheur Du Jour is a slow ballad with
female
vocals. Overall, diverse and interesting, but not always entirely
succesfull.
Arnaldo appearantly described the album as a mixture of Bosch and Salvador
Dali."
Original pressing on Polydor from 1968. The record is in EX+ condition,
belter
copy! Plays mint. The cover is in EX- condition, the opening seam has a few
small tears. Music from another dimension.

Livin' blues ram jam rosey
Livin' blues is the follow-up band of the legendary Indiscrimination, the
Hague's answer to Cuby & the Blizzards. This is their great fifth album with
awesome progressive bluesrock. Title says it all. Recorded at the Chipping
Norton recording studio in Oxfordshire, UK 20-28 october 1973. Produced by
Mike Vernon, famous for his work for the Blue Horizon label. Original
pressing on Ariola.
The cover is in VG+ condition, some fool wrote his initials with a felt pen
on it. Record is near mint condition.
