The Ernest Experience Radio Show starts off its Second season w/ a trip to
the doctor. Matt 'Doctor' Fink, former keyboardist and vocalist for Prince
and The Revolution and early versions of the New Power Generation, can be
heard on the May edition of the Ernest Experience Radio Show. The interview
will run the whole month of May.
Doctor Fink joined Prince's band in 1978 after people like Sue Ann Carwell,
Jimmy Jam and Ricky Peterson (who was initially hired) auditioned before
him. And after many phone calls to Owen Husney, Prince's then manager, Fink
got the audition and the job. Prince disbanded The Revolution in 1986, but
Doctor Fink stayed in the band until late 1990.
Doctor Fink answers questions some fans have always wondered about. Why did
the Revolution break up? Why didn't Wendy & Lisa come to the Prince: A
Celebration at Paisley Park in 2000? What did he do after he left Prince's
camp? Why did he wait until this time to finally release his own CD? What
does the think of other Revolution members releasing their albums so soon
after leaving The Revolution? Why did he have only one line in Purple Rain?
Why did he not have an appearance in Graffiti Bridge despite still being in
the band? What scene w/ him and Jill Jones got cut from Purple Rain? How
did he become The Doctor? What music is he listening to these days? What
current artist does the think could be the female Prince of this generation?
All those questions and more will be answered during the interview.
The interview will also showcase 5 new tracks from the Doctor's new CD
Ultrasound, including "Cyber Monkey", "Night Flight", "Ecstasy", "Nothing
But A Smile" and the title track.
