I have to say that I have mixed feelings about last night's concert at the
State Theater in Detroit. My overall experience was one of dissappointment.
I felt that the fans in Detroit got a second rate show for PREMIUM dollars.
I can appreciate the old stuff, it isn't about that. I understand that he
doesn't always start on time, that didn't bother me much either. What I am
dissappointed about is how "rushed" most of the songs were and HOW EARLY HE
STOPPED THE SHOW!!! He played for only 90 minutes. I can't understand that
the prices charged for this show (of all stuff that he has played here
before) would be cut that short. This is especially considering that there
wasn't an opening act or special guests (like in Cleveland). The stage
didn't even have a "set" to speak of... just a white curtain backdrop.
Don't get me wrong... the show was good and the sound was awesome.... but I
have never been to a Prince show and left dissappointed.... Last night, I
felt a bit betrayed or taken advantage of.
Am I alone on this one??? Does anyone else share the same feelings? They
were breaking down the stuff on the stage and there were people just
standing there in disbelief wondering how it could be over already. I think
it was shameful. Then people were handing out flyers and "tickets" to the
afterparty..... that cost $20 to enter and $100 to get to the VIP room
(where Prince was to be). Was this just more insult to injury???
I think so....

Mike,
You weren't the only one disappointed. I didn't feel that the songs were too
short, but there was definitely a helluva lot that he decided not to play last
night - he just stopped after Purple Rain. My report is on AMP now...
I still had a good time, so I'm not going to complain about it. I consider
myself lucky to have gotten tickets at all. Still, it doesn't leave me with
the best feeling about the show.
It's also the first year I've seen a Prince concert (I saw him twice in 1997
and once in 1998) where the concert wasn't the BEST I'd seen that year.
Santana/Macy Gray blew Prince away this year...

ticketmaster outlets, Goofy!

If that's the case, it would have made more sense to say "Floor seats are not
sold by Ticketmaster."

outlets
Ticketmaster phone and online sells best seats as does the box office. Outlets
only have the lesser seats. been that way the entire tour per prince's
request.
Personally, I don't get it. I got thru on Ticketmaster on-line real fast...
and the best I did was Section C (third back from the stage). What would
you expect for $100 anyway?
