A detective friend of mine was relating to me how the media has covered
the death of William Shatner's wife vs that of OJ's wife.
Very interesting...............

I wish I could relay some of the information that was given to me.
I feel you though..<

No need. Here's a copy of William
Shatner's 911 call. It just says it all.

I laughed when I first read it (I know it's not funny, a woman died), but so
much is so obvious. His wife is at the BOTTOM OF THE FRIGGIN' SWIMMING POOL,
and he's chatting with the 911 operator. He was unhappily married to an
alcoholic and they were headed towards divorce court.

Boy oh boy, if Capt. Kirk had just a little bit more melanin in his skin, it
would have been a whole different event; media-wise!

____Police today in Los Angeles released the transcript of Shatner's 911
emergency call placed August 9. The exchange, less than 30 seconds in length,
is as frighteningly real as reenactments on Shatner's old Rescue 911 reality
series were laughably stilted.

Here is the 911 call:

SHATNER: "Oh, my God!..."

911 DISPATCH:: "What's your problem there, sir?"

SHATNER: "My wife's at the bottom of the pool!"

911 DISPATCH: "Okay, did you get her out of the pool yet, sir?"

SHATNER: "No, not yet."

911 DISPATCH: "I want you to take her out of the pool right now."

SHATNER: "She's at the very deep end..."

911 DISPATCH: "Okay, sir. If you can, grab something and get her out of the
pool. Sir. Sir. Right away, get your wife out of the pool."

SHATNER: "Okay."

911 DISPATCH: "Don't hang up the phone."

But Shatner did hang up to dive into the pool to retrieve his model wife, the
former Nerine Kidd, police say. The Star Trek captain tried unsuccessfully to
revive the 40-year-old woman.

An autopsy performed last week on Nerine Shatner was inconclusive, pending
toxicology results. Police say the drowning was accidental--no foul play
suspected.

The Shatners wed in November 1997. It was the actor's third marriage. Reputedly
frustrated with Nerine's ongoing alcohol problem, Shatner filed for divorce
just 11 months later, but never pursued the case.

I don't know all the detailed but it seemed it was swept under the rug pretty
quickly. I really hope it didn't have anything to do with race, but supposedly
Shatner had an alibi. Does anyone know if Shatner had a history of abusing
women like OJ did? Yes, I admit I am a fan of Shatner, even though he looks
foolish now - almost a parody of himself. I was a fan of OJ too before all the
BS.

need I point out that Mr. Shatner's wife drowned, Mr. Simpson's ex-wife's
throat was slit.

Mr. Shatner called and reported the crime, Mr. Simpson went on a bizarre ride
in a Bronco with a gun pointed to his head.

Somehow Mr. Simpson's story seems more newsworthy to me. Although all the
bullshit that followed it was indefensable.

Sadly, Cochrane et al managed to defend it all too well.
