Boni Boyer died on December 4th 1996, of a brain aneurysm, and the world lost
an Angel.

I was listening to SOTT live and felt compelled to post this from Ben
Margolin's page at http://togdog.com/boni/

Born in Washington, DC, on July 28, 1958 to the union of Martin L. and Margaret
H. Boyer, she was the youngest of five children. Coming to California at the
age of 5 she was formally educated in the Public Schools of Oakland,
California. Boni began her singing and music career at the age of 6 when she
began playing violin. By thee age of 18 she could play the flute, piano,
violin, drums, guitar, bass and synthesizer. She has an excellent ear for music
and taught herself to play many of the instruments. Boni further developed her
musical talents through studies at Laney College and sharpened her vocal skills
at Judy Davis Studios.

Boni was a world renowned singer and prolific song writer. A local favorite
whose golden voice graced many of today's million selling recordings. She
launched her performing career with her first band "Second Wind". She went on
to work with top artists such as the Artist Formerly Known as Prince, Lionel
Ritchie, Sheila E, Tony, Toni, Tone, Confunkshun, Digital Underground and many,
many Bay Area favorites. She traveled extensively making lasting friendships
all over the world.

Boni was raised in a religious home. She accepted Christ at the age of 14 and
was baptised at Beth Eden Baptist Church in Oakland. Her spiritually was ever
present in her life and world. She leaves to mourn her mother, Margaret Boyer,

and Mark Williams, 3 Great-Nieces; 7 Great-Nephews; 2 Brothers-in-Law, Timothy
Anderson and Mark Williams, Sr.; 4 Godchildren; a host of aunts, uncles,
cousins and a planet full of friends. Her father Martin L. Boyer, Sr., brother
Martin L. Boyer, Jr. and nephew Gregory F. Smith preceded her in death. Boni is
forever in our hearts and our love for her will never die. She touched so many
with. her love, happiness and smile. Peace be with you dear Daughter, Sister &
Friend.

No kidding, the world lost a great one there... By the way, did you know
that was her who sang background on Pink Floyds "Dark Side of the Moon"?
Listen to it, you don't even need the credit list to tell that it is her.

Born in Washington, DC, on July 28, 1958

Dark side was recorded at Abbey Road in London in 1970/1971.

How do you figure a twelve year old girl was doing session work in London?

Boni was one of few talented women who worked with Prince.I would have loved to
see a concert with her and Rosie on vocals.

When I first got this WebTV and jumped on to AMP without a clue (check
dejanews--yep, 1st post, O(+> WAS IN FARGO!) one of the first
unfortunate things I learned was Ms. Boyer was gone. HiRize verified
this via e-mail and gave me the link to the absolutely BEAUTIFUL homage
to her that he did. (You did it, right?) He became a favorite poster
of mine (along with JuvenileHi, that guy cracks me up CONSTANTLY, I read
his posts when I haven't even read the THREAD!) disappeared for awhile,
and is now seemingly back in full-force. HA! (You have a secret
admirer, dude.)
