OK, so I called NewFunk 2 days ago and had some questions, which
she could not really answer for me, I was hoping somebody around
AMP knows about these recordings:
Come On $9, fine. Buy why is it not listed on the web site?
Together (The Family) no other explaination, no track list? Sheeshh!
New Power Pack 3 previously released CD's in one pack. Which ones? They
can't tell me! Such know-nothing help! Dain-Bramage 2da Max
NYC Live What year, what's the track list? (they are no help)

I was amazed that this is NewFunk. How depressing. This is the vision
of indy marketing I've come to imagine? He'd do so much better with
a record company doing his fulfillment, at least they know how to do
that.. and so much of what they say they have, ain't on the web site.
I think I'll just wait to buy somebodies CDR later, I have a better
chance of actually getting it that way, sounds like from what I've
read on AMP..

Ok my little onery one, remember these kids are just doing their job and have
nothing to do with what is or isn't offered. Nobody likes to get chewed out
for their employer's policies which they have no control over. I've been in
that position and it really sucks!!
I'd get some arrogant SOB that would cuss me out LOUDLY cuz I couldn't cash
their $5000 out of state check. I'd smile sweetly and say "Thank you sir, I
hope you have a wonderful day." HA!! They wouldn't know what to do after
that, since everyone's looking at them, they'd just put their NY'er tails
between their legs and crawl out into the desert......
Now, I'm *not* saying that complaints can't or shouldn't be made, but they
can be done without being mean. (remember the old 'treat others the way you
want to be treated'??)

Well I just called, and Come On is now "already on backorder!" So is the
calendar. :-(
We all have to remember that these operators are simply reading off a
computer screen, and they know nothing more than what's in front of them. I
doubt that the job description requires being a Prince fan and knowing
anything about Prince/NPG/NEWFUNK past or AMP/L4OA/NEWFUNK online -
unfortunately.

BUT you have a choice: if you don't want this kind of thing, then
don't work at such a place. Otherwise, shut up and do your job.

As many will testify, 1800StillTakingDownOrdersOnPostItNotes used to
be incredibly rude.
And actually, I think such a phone order thingy is extremely rude if
you cannot guarantee prompt delivery...

thread here on AMP not too long ago in which AMPers who have worked or
still work in retail shared their horror stories about having to deal
with rude and demanding customers.
I think people calling 1800NewFunk should keep in mind that the people
who are answering the phones and taking orders are not the ones who make
decisions or have any power at all at Paisley Park or NPG Enterprises. I
am only guessing here, but these operators are probably only earning
minimum wage and are doing what they were told to do with the
information they have been given.

in the past. i ordered the newpowerpak and the COME ON single...however, they
do not have the BS video or the 1999 single. but coming very soon! said the
operator. for those uncle larry fans out there, u can get GCS2000. its
available now..
