I do not recall reading or hearing any interviews in which P said he was
either gay or straight. He has left it all in the eye of the beholder.

Some people look at his hair, his clothing, the heels, the make-up and
the homoeroticism in some of his videos and stage act and they see a gay
man.

Some people look at the women he has dated, his marriage, and the songs
he sings and they see a straight man.

People will see in P whatever they want to see, and that's okay because
each individual has his/ her own mind's eye.

In the mind's eye of some people, P appears to be bisexual, and the
possibility is certainly there that he at one time dated women while
having fantasies about relations with other men because he did a lot of
acting out on those homoerotic fantasies in public.

Nobody can forget him laying on the stage, spreading his legs, and
throwing his butt high up in the air at many, many concerts. He did that
for years. P would also crawl between the legs of male dancers. And the
Gett Off video is a classic. P, wearing a silk scarf on his head with a
few delicate curls poking up at the top, emerges from the bottom of a
pile of beefy guys. Now how many people do you think saw this and said,
"he's gay?" Probably a few million.

In addition, in the Purple Rain film, Morris calls P "a long-haired
faggot." In the Grafitti Bridge film, Morris calls P a "queen." Morris
would never have said those lines without P's permission. In Under the
Cherry Moon, Jerome takes P in his arms, removes his sunglasses so he
can look into his eyes and says, "Girl, I've loved you for years." That
is not the only scene in UTCM that caused people to speculate about P's
sexuality.

Please note that I did not say that he acted on these homoerotic
fantasies in private; I said he acted them out in public. Perhaps by
acting on his fantasies in public, P never felt the need to act on them
in private.

If P's fans wonder why fans and non-fans alike continue to speculate
on his sexuality, well, his physical image and actions should answer
your question.

Of course.......

Prince is all about blurring the lines, crossing over- musically, racially,
sexually.
