In other words . . . He did not strike a record deal with a major label while
in L.A. to distribute 1999, so he will distribute it himself. You'll know what
that means, i.e. Crystall Ball, GCS 2000, Newpowerpak, etc. etc. We won't get
the "new master" of 1999 until the year 2000. He needs to understand that
there are two distinct aspects of the Music Industry. MUSIC, which he does
very well and INDUSTRY, which he does very bad. He needs a record label.

This is about Prince's" concession" to Warner's on The Future, claiming he no
longer wants to fight them for his masters.

Which doesn't surprise me. most of the major labels have experienced
him at first hand and know not to deal with him anymore, the others
have gotten wise to him. hey, why should they help him? what has he
done for them lately?

I just cannot understand they haven't done this earlier. Damn, read
that future post and tell me where there's any "love" in that message.

Too right. In any case, people will still buy the original, even if
the new version would be better. because they have fond memories of
the original...

>(I'll use tis trendy new Prince buzz word) "MILKING" the song 1999...

I never could comprehend why warners are "milking" 1999 -- hell, I
have yet to see the first ad for it in any music mag, and I read
loads. so they've re-released it. big fucking surprise. but who's the
one doing all the talking? damn right...
