How about
<http://www.fontshop.de>? ;-)
Apparently, the [P] fonts are not quite coherent. Try comparing the [P]
cover vs. "Dummy" cover. The font ist not the same. All of them seem to
be a little "tormented" by the sleeve designer.
You can reach the very [P] like effect using Monotype's Impact
("Portishead") or something like Helvetica Inserat / Helvetica Bold
Condensed ("Dummy"). All these are commercial fonts, though. All
PostScript, Type 1.
The outline variation is easy made in a vector graphic program of your
choice, i.e. Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia FreeHand.
FYI, you'd make the answer much easier if you wrote exactly if you were
looking for PostScript or TrueType fonts, and, most important, for which
operating system.
You can also send the fontshop folks a font sample and they'll determine
which font was it exactly.

5.1 Which fonts have Portishead used for that distinctive "Portishead"
look?
Pre 'Portishead' album , 'Helvetica Compressed - Extra' (further
compressed by
60%) was used. Since then it's been 'Compacta BT - Roman".
