Could someone tell me the names of some female Polka Singers and their bands
or bands they sing with?? I would love to check out their music. I know
Lynn Marie but not any others. I would appreciate your help! Thanks!

I have to agree with Zosia Piotrowski, pleasant voice and pure Polish
pronounciation.

And we can't leave out Genny O, formerly from the Windy City Brass, and
now performing with "Next Step".

How is it that no one has mention Colleen Stolarz from the Polka
Shamrocks? Listening to her sing, still gives me chills to this day. I
never had the pleasure of seeing the Shamrocks live. There is a video
on YouTube from the 80's of her and Frankie Liska singing "Take A
Chance".......WOW!!!!!

Can not forget one of the first women of polka music, Marisha Data and also
Alice Kusik who I know sang with the Hi Notes on a few songs "Little Beans"
was one of them. Julcia with Happy Louie, Stephanie was mentioned but her
mother Wanda also.

Re Ms. Z. Piotrowski, I'd just add that her singing and playing
daughters are equally wonderful.
More on the Czech/German side, Molly Busta of the Jin Busta band is
a delightful vocalist, as well as an amazing multi-instrumental
performer, and she is a big part of the phenomenal success of her
father's band in the midwest.
Whatever happened to the Skaja sisters, who dueted beautifully in
native Polish on the Chicago records label some years back? They were
among the very best female vocalists in the Polish field, too.
Finally, Karen Olszewski, who sings a couple of numbers at most
Maestro's Men gigs, is a good and spirited singer. Because of that
band's popularity she has to be one of the most seen and heard female
vocalists in the field -- even though she doesn't actually sing that
many numbers.

Interesting that most of the names popping up are from the past. How
about some of the new blood. Crystal Biegaj (USPA favorite female
vocalist for 2005), Robin Mrozinski (with the Twin Cities Soundz),
Sarah Banewicz (Tony's Polka Band). Still lots of good talent out
there. Hope people recognize that and support it!

songs on PhoCus' CD)
and appearing on Matt's up & coming recording, and also from Buffalo,
is Theresa Ryndak.

Krystal does a superb job with her featured tracks on "Tournament,"
the new CD by Crusade. Her voice is rich, dynamic, warm and from the
heart.

Robyn, of Twin City Soundz, offers a voice filled with pure joy. She
also plays a heck of a concertina.

While we're mentioning names, let's not forget Kristine and Andrea
Piotrowski of Pan Franek's Polka Towners. Their ability to musically
"Grab hold" of a crowd is amazing and their vocals and "power of
performance" on stage is pure entertainment.

Re the Piotrowski girls: Yes, Steve, I think they are far and away the
best female singers and entertainers in the polka field today ---for
the reasons you gave and also because their Polish is excellent.
